Posts from Heroes World Gaming League
There are no good ideas for anything else, so let's just relax.
I think, since we're talking about games, the icons should be designed like medals.
I agree with Heroist. And if Olivia Ok is fine, then regarding the second icon...
Heroes 3: HotA (Online)
Goal: defeat other players (league or olympic format, depending on the number of participants).
+A game well-known to most of the locals.
+The mod will diversify the gameplay experience with new, as yet untried additions.
+No strict rules, unlike the regular tournaments on the forum for this part of the Heroes series.
+Relatively low skill level among potential participants, which will help avoid long, tedious turns.
-Matches can be lengthy.
-Possible connection issues between players during the setup phase.
-For many, Heroes is a thing of the past.
Diablo II (Offline)
Goal: reach the highest level on hardcore.
+A wide choice of characters and various builds to suit any taste.
+Individual approach to leveling your character — it's not necessary to complete the game.
+The offline format allows you to play at any convenient time.
-The gameplay can require a significant amount of time.
-Possible installation issues if there's a need to verify participants' honesty.
Touhou (Offline)
Goal: achieve the highest score.
+Each individual attempt takes very little time, so depending on the desired outcome, the time invested by a single player in the tournament can be very minimal.
+Relatively simple yet engaging gameplay. There should be no issues with learning it.
+It's quite possible that, just like with SV, someone might get hooked during or after the event.
+Convenient elements for running a tournament — ranks can be easily assigned by score, and replays can be saved and viewed from different computers without issues, as the files are very small (plus, I have the necessary software saved and configured to upload them to YouTube and embed them on HeroesWorld).
-Requires installing AppLocale or a locale emulator.
I haven't played d2 in a very long time (and I wouldn't say I played much overall), so it will take a lot of time to remember how everything works.
I would try Touhou, but with my slow reaction time, games like that as well as all sorts of shooters are unlikely to bring any pleasure at all.
Although offline tournaments aren't very interesting, actually.
Where do we end up when we save the world?
