A scholar at heart, Umberto loves new books, new roads, and the light of Elrath that illuminates them all.

Melisenda is a distant relative of the ruling family of the Duchy of the Hound. Some say that she could have used her blood ties to secure a high rank in the imperial army, but Melisenda decided to join the order of crusaders and left the green fields of the Holy Empire, heading towards the hot sands of the Sahaar desert. No one knows why she made such a choice, but the same gossips claim that Melisenda may have played a role in the failed palace coup.

She turned out to be an incredibly wise and intelligent woman; it seems that she does not age for some reason.
