I'm amazed by you guys... all so righteous and innocent. Based on my experience, I've been disqualified from Tournaments several times due to time constraints. But here's what I want to point out: I always notify everyone as soon as the Tournaments start, but these "everyone" wait until the last moment, when I'm often already unavailable and get disqualified. Who's being unreasonable now? But in those cases, it's all my fault, and I don't deny it, nor have I ever complained.
Here, I started playing as soon as the list was announced. Then the opponent postponed, then he wrote about having to meet a friend. Then he had other obligations, which were more important, and yes, he told me that the deadline was until the 19th and there was still time. There was no reason to doubt his words, and it seemed logical.
I'm not shifting the blame onto Redii, not at all; it's entirely my fault. I'm just trying to explain how it happened. In the future, I'll only participate in Tournaments under the condition that I immediately ask the organizers to set a specific date for my match with the opponent. And thank you to the organizer for this Tournament; it was just difficult to ask via ICQ when I was online the whole time. We can get distracted for our own reasons, but why bother with this, right?

Tatyana, you are absolutely right, as an organizer, I am also annoyed by people who don't play within the allotted time or postpone it until the last day, but I still ask you to make an exception for them this time. I think everyone has learned a good lesson that you shouldn't be trifled with! :)

Publicly discussing the organizer's actions after he has made a decision in full accordance with the regulations is not appropriate. I, too, was on the side of the players, but:
- the players did not show sufficient seriousness, including towards the organizer's firm decision-making (based on past experience);
- the players could have informed the organizer in advance and constantly worried about the possible consequences of violating the deadlines stipulated in the regulations, but no one did. And this will look especially contradictory against the background of pairs who went out of their way to meet the deadline. Moreover, extending the deadlines for some players should be done with consideration for other players, whose interests may be affected (so that extending the deadline for one does not affect those who are waiting or simply interested). The principle of fair play is still the most reliable motivator. And in this regard, each organizer should be supported, not pressured.
Whether to end the round on the weekend or start it is like rearranging the terms - 14 days will still cover 4 weekends. Perhaps it would be better for some to start the round on the weekend so as not to rely on chance and the uncertainty of their own plans at the end of the deadline. After all, the deadlines are set precisely.
And regarding the free wins. Well, yes, some people got a free win. And others, on the contrary, were deprived of the opportunity to play. But everywhere, all organizers rely on the principle of informing them about any critical situation. If there is no such information, then do not expect positive decisions. You have to have something to base your decisions on. I have now come to a decision, perhaps a naive one, to promote the third-place winners from these groups instead of those who violated the rules.

In my opinion, it's hard to call Toganesha a "cheater." Overall, I think the punishment doesn't match the severity of the violation.

From a rules perspective, the organizer's actions are perfectly legitimate: the game wasn't played, and no one withdrew – so they were removed from the tournament. But, from a purely human perspective, it's possible to be more accommodating. After all, the guys played 5-6 games in the group stage on HL+U (and this isn't M200, by the way), then played a playoff game on time (which can be confirmed by replays), and they're being kicked out of the tournament – that's, at the very least, a lack of respect for the participants who spent 40+ hours of their personal time (which, by the way, is a full working week :smile04:) on this tournament. Okay, GUNAR and Makiavelli, who probably didn't even start playing, never mind Toga and Reddi, who finished their game the next day. But the game between FTS and Mizrael could have been counted. I'm still asking Tatiana :smile36: to be more lenient and still count this game, which was formally played on time.

I suggest Tatiana bans Dirty, because he's asking for too much here, you see))) he's trying to bypass the RULES!!! And then ban the Creator too, if he happens to stand up for him:).
