Posts from Voting – The most epic DEFEAT of CIS-2016.
Message from HellLighT Got good roads, money was fine, a fat Griffin Conservatory and a refuge with pits; by the end of the week I took 2 computers, some villages, gloves, and made 20 demons. The same-one Griffin Conservatory and Pandora for 10k gold on 121, then went to take hives since other conservatories were fat and on grass, and max mana was 10. In the end, only by 127 did I gather hives for 30 ducks and 8 angels; in the same move I took a trio Dragon Utopia at the respawn with Wings, captain's hat, and book of fire. Simultaneously pumped up Luna; with wings I gathered quite a few more hives. In total, I gathered 70 ducks and upgraded them, but things weren't going well with the Mage Guild. At the end of the third week, Taz arrives with good stats but a small army; in the end, after an Armageddon from Luna on sultans, there is absolutely nothing left of him. Kyrre with 4k moves pursues and takes his main with angels in the Castle. On 141 comes the surrender, thanks for the game.
Third defeat in a row from Hell in the CIS final tournaments over the last 3 years. Time to change something...
My comments: Cobra has control, but power is 2 times less; Hell rebuilt the Mage Guild more than once, but had no control at all. And then Cobra comes and takes one of Hell's castles with a scout hero; Hell retakes the castle, defeats Luna (she isn't GG, but she' same pumped), buys her back in that castle, gives her 3 efreets and reaches Cobra's GG with her, casts Armageddon, buy-out; Cobra has 6 ducks left (if I'm not mistaken), he doesn't surrender, but everything is clear to everyone...
The start was good, Maryka gets offense, I'm building ifreets in the castle, there is money for buy-outs. The road leads to the metro without guards; I decide to take a gray Inferno on the first week for double, but it's taken by the opponent so as not to encounter him on re in a good distribution; I break back home for conservatories. 121 mini conservatory, Marusya runs to the next conservatory, bracers are scouted, army goes for the gnome-building. 122 I hit mini Dragon Fly Hive, stand right under the conservatory and then Dessa runs out of the portal near the bracers... There were options: 1. Check conservatories (both 2-4 without GS), take the smaller one, but at the same time not enter the contact zone. 2. Have Maryka retake the bracers and attack Dessa with bracers using a scout hero with the army currently present. 3. Break the conservatory without checking with Maryka, have her retake the bracers and attack Dessa with a scout hero having power and bracers. I absolutely didn't want to let Dessa onto the map, so I dismissed the first option immediately. Attacking Dessa, who just doubled his mana, with a scout hero and growth without a book, not knowing his build-up and stats (only one castle), while the battle would be on native barbarian land... that's questionable. Decided to resort to Amilu's coin again; she said - take the conservatory. Maxi conservatory was against taking it, thanks for the game.
Mizrael
...(deleted Mikhail's comment regarding my mental abilities, I was wrong) Lizard didn't even know where he came out (although Toga almost spoiled to him that I had already been there when he reacted by voice to the orange one on my turn), so he physically couldn't find me, as guards had already been broken by me and navigating without them is problematic; but his moves were clear as day because everything in that zone had been scouted by me several days ago. There were three options (and this is reflected in the report), I chose the one that allowed winning the game here and now, it didn't work out. Why invent things that weren't there?
My second game in this wonderful poker and hearthstone tournament, but the opponent and I still played horses, breaking tradition. In the first week, I entered an adjacent zone where I scouted and took four zombie external dwellings, planning to later trade them in a Dragon Utopia for something more valuable. Also captured the native necromancer computer. At the end of the week, the question of building nags arose. Due to lack of money, I doubted their necessity for a long time, but eventually put them in. On 121 with 60 zombies and 120 blues, I decided to take a 2-conservatory. Not enough money for the rest, but following Stiki's commandment, I decided that tempo is everything. Estimated chances of success at 5% and, deciding this was enough, took the risk. Griffins failed me and the angel was never delivered. After the loss, I had to endure another two days for hero and nag buy-outs to finish what was started in the conservatory. Losing two days was a lesser disappointment if you remember all the sold resources. Farewell guild upgrade. On the third week, having accumulated power, I took Dragon Utopias, before which I had to dance in circles for three days until I found an approach. The reward was a book of air, and then I built Town Portal at home. On the fourth, I gathered more troops than the opponent but lagged behind in stats. Was caught in the castle. Fought without the cloak of renunciation, with which the battle would have been won in my favor. 17 angels were weaker despite the opponent's 400 troglodytes and advantage in wyverns. Thus I had to trade off to zero and start everything over. Here the advantage was on my side; on the very first day I gathered 600 skeletons from all castles, 4 angels from the conservatory, and having an advantage in number of heroes and castles, made a strategically important move - left all artifacts on a secondary hero, including shackles, and gave myself up as a father in the castle. A well-deserved victory for the opponent. Thanks for the game.
It turned out to be a fun game in which I miraculously managed to bounce back. Encountered the frenzy spell for the first time and will remember it for a long time) Thanks for the game!
My comments: didn't see the games, but Falcon (Alexey) made several moves that caused a storm of surprise in the room and as I understand these were mistakes, but Alexey eventually, having an advantage, pulled through.
I'll start with the backstory... The draw was entrusted to Alex, or rather pulling cards. I no longer had a chance for 1st place, but there were 3 people with 4 points, and I could play against the 3rd CIS champion, so I shouted something like "give me Hell" and I got him )
The next day, when I woke up, I realized I was sick; I felt very own (and not because of alcohol, surprisingly). After every move, I went outside to cough, and in general, tried with my last strength to pull myself together and do something.
Shortly after the start of the game, Lizard won in a pair against Mizrael. Meaning that in case of my victory, Lizard would become champion after this tour. At that very moment everyone started rooting for Hell, even those who bet he wouldn't be CIS champion ) And I myself, to be honest, rooted for him a bit )) But decided that I wouldn't just give up, like some people do ) I'll play as best as I can. Now about the game:
The start was such that an Ivor with 10 long-ears and one more native hero came to my tavern. Without thinking twice, I ran Kyrre in one direction on gr. kents, and Ivor on grands in another. Ivor hit a block but scouted 2 Dragon Utopias in the corner treasure zone. Horses are in the Citadel at home. On 121 decided to trade for 0, hoping for fast yolo Dragon Utopias.
On 122 took the 1st Dragon Fly Hive, then 2 conservatories (3+1) on the opponent's respawn. Since there were 3 gnome external dwellings - decided to go to the Dragon Utopias by the start of the 3rd week. On 132 Kyrre was broken - went to the Dragon Fly Hive near the Dragon Utopia, took it, and there was another box for 50 gnomes - total 130 ))) There was no earth, only water and air; in the Dragon Utopia I poured meat, but seemed to take it without major losses - got a cap on the 5th. Then 2 more Dragon Utopias - gave absolutely nothing, well maybe wings.
Since my condition was deteriorating in geometric progression, decided to go for the opponent, picking up one more Dragon Utopia (maxi with nothing) on the way
Put chains on taking Hell's castle via Dimension Door with scout heroes.
It seemed that 20 minutes of timer would be enough, but no )) Only started on angels - retook 3 castles, scouted, mowed down scouts, could deliver the main army through 2 Dimension Doors with a scout hero, but by the timer realized I could only break Kyrre and pass the angels, hoping that Hell wouldn't reach them.
On the last second I remove KS, but didn't have time to put on the hat for the 5th.
Hell attacks, thinking that I have KS with 12 mana. After trading a bit he retreats. After this he attacks with a scout-mage with mana. I only have water elemental summons: we kill each other.
Time to dig up Kyrre, I have 60k - let's go. Unexpectedly fast, I dig her out in 10 heroes, bring the meat, see father Gundula with shackles - GG.
I confirm, the start wasn't the coolest, but some good candidates for mains came in, decent money, and Dragon Fly Hive + conservatory; decided to play (1 rest remained). The opponent had more interesting things, invested in Mage Guild, on 126 MG5 with slag, 4 rebuilds of level 4 up to Town Portal and 3 rebuilds of the 5th; only got fly. In the first Dragon Utopia I took meat at -1 morale, it went as -4 morale for wyverns and 1 -morale for angels, in the end all were eaten except 5 angels out of 6 (no mass shield); gave 6all and 5all, but the second Dragon Utopia turned out to be slag. Due to lack of Dimension Door I couldn't take the maxi-utopia taken by Aiwe; well then as it turned out, an opponent's blunder worked in his favor - if he had enough timer to sit in the city he needed, Gundula would have destroyed Kyrre without major problems. Managed to kill Kyrre at the cost of several artifacts (couldn't break summons, but by cutting the army and dying as a hero sent Kyrre with artifacts to the tavern). I didn't have money to dig myself, but Aiwe had plenty; however the skill worked almost immediately and Kyrre came out of the tavern with a solid reserve of money. Then another attempt to catch him on a mistake was unsuccessful, thanks for the game.
My comments: Aiwe is a legend! Fought until the end with a fever despite a bunch of distracting factors (like me, who approached and said "Russian surrender"). =Lizard=
Aiwe summoned water elementals (not earth ones), and also hit with a ring of cold. It was truly epic. Definitely the coolest game at the championship - HellLight-Aiwe; there's little point in the contest here, sorry, Artem.
On the 1st I gathered artifacts for stats, no objects, horses started with resource exchange; on the 2nd Solmir arrived on a spectral dragon and chains at 380; drove him away at the cost of 45 magogs from a box and all hundred bones. The castle for buy-out was close and Vanya ran back to me on fast roads, scouted conservatory and shackles nearby; conservatory turned out to be a 3; took the shackles and killed Solmir with all artifacts. Then ran around some more, took another 6 winged ones and some ducks, Vanya capitulates. Thanks for the game!
Fiddled for a long time on off-roads in one-way streets, then kept Artem in fear on the guest, but the arriving shackles were very timely. After Solmir's death I hid some more, but the map was terrible; rebuilt MG 4 a couple of times - got nothing, had to surrender. Thank you for the game!
My comments: FTS flew into a three-way with Solmir, then not knowing how to get out, called Dirty. Konstantin (Dirty) tested the save and said that everything is fine with the portal; yes, the chance was probably the smallest, but FTS caught it. In the end, Solmir was caught with bracers on foreign territory and ...
6. DIRTY_PLAYER vs Amiloo Bayazet
Two tournament games were memorable:
....The third round passed under the sign of a dirty move from another Konstantin. Jebus Cross for tavern against Inferno with Amilu. With Solmir behind forcefield, almost without losses, wiped out infantry ГО with grems and an arrow. Caught the opponent on acceleration, drove him from the center, continued to press on his respawn. The blocked opponent fights until the last soldier, gathering wyverns and cleaning up Dragon Utopias left for a rainy day. A curious Solmir leaves the captured capital to see how things are going and is immediately surrounded by 5-6 scouts with a request probably for autographs. But there is air vision, which suggests that GG Amilu is also nearby - just need not to be distracted. What does Kostya do? Brings growth consisting of 1 devil and 2 ifreets, politely taking a couple of steps back. Then gets rid of all petitioners and sets out on the warpath... The fog parts and there you go: the opponent's accelerated GG stands there, who is 150 moves short. This is not enough - by inertia Solmir runs past the point from which he could have returned to the capital on the next move. This was a move that could have been avoided entirely and the game would have dragged on.
My comments: Huge thanks to Bayazet for the PM in which he pointed to his message. The game was very interesting, I didn't follow it, but heard the description from Mikhail (Amilu).Dirty_Player
I haven't been this tilted by a game in a long time...
So... Amilu had almost no chance, but so that Dirty's GG wouldn't reach him and waste moves, he surrounded him with scouts; Konstantin (Dirty) kills them but doesn't reach Amilu's GG. On the next move, he retakes the castle, which Dirty's GG cannot reach, and then it was a matter of technique and Amilu didn't miss his chance. Sorry, I don't know all the details, maybe participants will share.
So: whoever wins in the voting gets ...not 1 but 3 thousand rubles and autographs, if they are interesting. Good luck to everyone! Voting lasts 3 days from the start (or if no one fixes the results and I oversleep, then when I come and close the thread with a post)
