An uncolonized empire, with which we have no diplomatic relations, borders the territory of the Human Commonwealth. On the border with this empire are two of our systems (Vollonis and Rakaron) – not the smallest sources of resources, and they are the ones being pressured. However, one of the planets in these systems is habitable, which could resolve the border issue.
Alternatively, we can ignore these systems and head to other locations. Nearby is a very promising star cluster, with a primitive civilization and a huge amount of resources. The only problem is the time it will take to build the infrastructure, and we will have to colonize more than one planet.
In the event of a war, we should receive support from the Ibrak insects, who are in an alliance with us. These slimy creatures apparently call themselves that. However, they will probably not be of much help.

3 vs 1 in a war.
Well, I won. The insects actually helped quite a bit, although it's obvious that I did most of the work.
The costs for the war were enormous; I could have colonized a lot of planets instead... But overall, it turned out pretty well, just for fun. I captured two planets, including the capital, and gave the remaining one to my ally.
And yes, the rest of the army will be useful – I'll use it to destroy all sorts of crystalline organisms and space amoebas.

I stopped playing after a couple of sessions; it got boring.
