I decided to read Pratchett just to have something to do. And I liked him. I started with the books from the Rincewind series. The Last Continent seemed a bit like the same thing, but viewed from a different angle. Death is quite a character. The way the author describes him, and this detail with the enlarged font:
"OH YES, I HAVE THEM ALL," says this one, turning to the collector, Vimes. "ELVIS PRESLEY, BUDDY HOLLY, JIM MORRISON, JIMMY HENDRIX, JOHN LENNON..."
But in my opinion, he reached the peak of his skill in some of the books about Death and in the Night Watch series of Ankh-Morpork. The mixture of humor, drama, bitter irony, and silly love (for weapons! For weapons!). And that episode with the watches "from friends on the watches." I read it recently and was very impressed. In general, people say that fantasy is mass culture, a genre for one-day reads. I strongly disagree with this opinion. Maybe I haven't reached a higher level of maturity yet, but "Doctor Zhivago," for example, doesn't appeal to me, while Pratchett does.

Pratchett is a mega-author. His Death is just amazing!!! Death and Morc are the best characters in all his books. Although the wizards of the Unseen University, the witches, and Rincewind are also pretty good. And the movie "Hogfather" is something else!!! I haven't laughed that much in a long time!!! It's really well done. The best characters in it are, of course, Death and the Rat King.

By the way, regarding names. In the Night Watch series of Ankh-Morpork, one can highlight interesting metamorphoses in the main characters' names. Here are some examples:
Sergeant Colon - Kishka - Dvoetochie, Vimes - Bodryak,
Constable/Captain Morkovka - Morkou - Carrot,
Shnobbi - Valet - Nobbi, as well as Angva - Angua.
All the names are essentially related; it's just that different translators worked on them, but some artifacts still get in the way. If you are used to a certain book (for example, I am used to the names Morkou, Vimes, Angva, Colon, Shnobbi), you can use Word's replace function to change all the names to the desired ones; the main thing is to decline them correctly. But even then, artifacts may pop up, for example: ...people at the slaughterhouse made sausages from various offal: lungs, liver, Colon...

If you haven't decided to read the books yet, here are some quotes:

This class is hilarious! It's just pure comedy:D.

Unfortunately, I only got my hands on "The Colour of Magic." The book is very easy to read and noticeably improves your mood. When I'm back on the mainland, I'll definitely visit a bookstore and look for his other books.
