If anyone remembers, there was a company called "Troika Games". And this company had a masterpiece of game development – a game about magic and technology...
So, are there any fans of the game?

I don't know the Arcanum universe, but I respect it, because Heroes is about the same thing in general terms.

No, no, no:) Trust a young gamer, Ksel:) A gnome in a frock coat and top hat, or a "magic wagon" in the subway... the choice between the past – magic – and the future – technology... A moment that causes mages and technicians to weaken each other, because magic weakens any technology, and technology spoils magic... Or some Jill Bates, the "inventor" of the steam engine... By the way... what do you think is cooler – a gun or a spell?:)
In my opinion, one of the rare old-school RPGs (and the game itself is quite old...).
I recommend it to those who haven't played it...

I tried playing it once, but...the graphics killed me. The thing is, Fallout 2 already looked a bit dated in 1998 with its graphics (but, of course, the game was too much of a masterpiece to deter true fans – I personally adore F2, to be honest), so in 2000, the same graphics were just too poor...
Oh, and the main thing is, I had the English version, and I like to play RPGs and adventure games in Russian (and strategy games – the opposite). So, it didn't work out for us. :( But now we have a Russian version on our local network...maybe I'll read the thread and finally be tempted.:smile20:

The graphics are okay, but gameplay is more important... However, its absence prevented the game from leaving a significant mark in RPG history... Still, it was worth playing...
In general, it's another game from the series "we expected a lot, but got nothing..." After all, when the developers of great games leave companies and try to create their own masterpiece, something worthwhile rarely comes out.

Arcanum was created by the same developers who made the timeless Fallout. Therefore, Fallout, Arcanum, and Baldur's Gate 2 are the best RPGs! And you can ignore the graphics; they aren't that important. No need to be too picky :)

Arcanum is one of my favorite games, on par with Fallout, BG2, NWN, Morrowind, and others. =)

There are many advantages to this game, and the graphics are quite decent (and that's not even the most important thing).
I really like the game world set in the 20th century, the emergence of the first inventions, the creation of weapons, etc. At the same time, there is also magic and all the primary races + half-ogre. =)
Overall, it's a good game!

Diablo is nothing compared to these games; you just run around and hack and slash.
But in these games, you have to think, solve puzzles, and the story is good!

Arcanum is one of my favorite games; I even know how to level up very quickly there. Once, I only ventured into Tarant at level 40. By the way, I noticed a bug: if you are an elf and Madame Lil's attitude toward you is over 100, then when the conversation starts, no matter which option you press, she attacks and her attitude, say from 105, will drop to -5, and at the same time, she curses the character. Personally, I play like this: Elf, biography "son of a hero" or "sold soul to a demon," skills melee combat, dodge, eloquence, magic fire, light, darkness, teleportation, strength (maybe something else, but I forgot, it's been a long time since I played). I play as an evil character and free Beine to get the best weapon in the game (until then, I fight with the Bangilian Whip). I plan to start playing through the game again soon; I'll try to complete the quest to become a god.

And did you find the Barbarian Kry? He's also evil and will be on Bane's side. ))

Hmm. A pure daytime elf mage is sufficient (I checked). We only level up magic. I already have a character at level 40. Magic affinity is 100. Schools: Light, Darkness, Power, Movement. Now I'm leveling up charisma and persuasion (yes, with 20 charisma, no companion will leave you).

I remember once throwing a precious gem at the Priceless Dummy, and it stayed in the group with a -1000 relationship towards me!!! And Raven, after transforming into a water spirit, becomes a man when he returns to his original form... and the gnome mage from the elven city (I forgot his name) becomes like a human after transforming into a fire spirit, and you have to put on clothes for a low-level character on him=)))
