Wow, I'd love to live on the Arabian Peninsula.
I think that's not the kind of paradise that would suit you – they have a ban on alcohol consumption there.

I don't think this is the kind of paradise that suits you – they prohibit the consumption of alcohol there.
Excellent reason to organize a crusade.

extremist book
It's just one specific translation of the Sunni branch, which isn't actually practiced among Russian Muslims.
Where do we go?
Where do we end up when we save the world?

Hello. What's going on here?
Trash, chaos, and debauchery. And conversations about God.
In general, Haven is, for once, living up to its name.

Only one specific translation of the Sunni denomination, which isn't actually practiced among Russian Muslims.
Wikipedia would disagree with you.
On September 17, 2013, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Novorossiysk ruled that the book "Semantic Translation of the Holy Quran into Russian" was extremist. This refers to the text by Elmir Kuliev, which is the most common and popular translation of the Quran in Russia.
But I won't.

Alas, there is no perfection in this world.

I only read the Bible in a simplified version for children (and I didn't even finish it), I wanted to read the full version, but I never got around to it.
А, вот почему.

From my perspective, it seems that less than 1% of believers actually read the Bible or the Quran.
As for various forms of Orthodoxy (including Greek Catholics), yes, that's true. They tend to value "Lives of the Saints" and other works by the Church Fathers more.
However, most Protestants are capable of quoting the Bible, almost from memory. Mainly the New Testament.

I wanted to read both, but at that time I didn't have copies, and now I'd rather read visual novels.

I'd rather read... Who am I kidding? I haven't read anything in a long time; I've DEGENERATED.
But the last thing I read was Lovecraft and SCP.
А, вот почему.

DEGENERATED
I used to really enjoy lying down (especially in the summer) and spending the whole day reading, even if it was just random stuff. But over time, reading stopped bringing me any satisfaction at all.

I still enjoy reading a good, interesting book, but lately, I've been more into comics, TV shows, or just wanting to play Skyrim again... Last year, I read at work, but now there's less free time there, and I'm always under the supervisor's nose, so I can't really relax. Also, I recently installed Japanese crossword puzzles on my phone, and now I'm completely hooked on them.
А, вот почему.

I managed to read the New and Old Testaments back in my early school years. IMHO, the only interesting part to read is the Revelation of John. I haven't felt the desire to reread the rest since then.

Apparently, the authors lacked imagination and writing skills.

I used to really enjoy lying down (especially in the summer) and spending the whole day reading, even if it was just trashy stuff.
I even had a hammock in the garden for this purpose. It's a shame that I've almost stopped reading since then.
