You've probably forgotten when you last traveled to Sochi by train. It's longer, yes, I agree, but it's more fun, without the stress of driving, you can relax and stretch your legs, without any transfers to and from the port (you get out in the city center and it's a short distance to the destination).

Three years ago, I took a train to Sochi for the last time in my life, and I will never do it again. And paying full price for a compartment is basically paying for nothing.

Apparently, the answer is simple – the option with 2 layovers wasn't considered, which doesn't suit us ideally.

Well, here the transfers are within the same airline, you don't have to carry your luggage around, and you don't have to spend several hours at the airport, and the total travel time is only 6 hours... plus the price is quite attractive.
