I played both campaigns, and I started by playing as Archibald. In that game, there were Barbarians, and Necropolis was one of my favorite factions at the time.

In my opinion, Archibald is easier to play. Especially if you know some tricks.

As they say, knowledge is light, and ignorance is darkness, so Roland!

What a plot!!! Or maybe, according to the plot, Archibald won, and then became good? Maybe that's what happened?:D :smile26: And I agree about the mission; I replayed it about 5 times myself! But when I was about 6 years younger, I couldn't stand it and entered cheat codes!

According to the plot, Roland will win, 100%. Do you think John van Caneghem just came up with this war for the throne for no reason?

Either play as Roland, or as Archibald, then discard Archibald and switch to Roland. Roland has an interesting final mission, especially in the area where Archibald is located; it's quite challenging there.

Roland is a stupid and pretty weakling. Archibald is a cool guy!

are there any more heroes? There are 4 versions for completing the campaign, it's a shame there aren't more, I've already completed them all several times, and I know all the maps by heart.

That's a strange question, though. I played as both. I started with Archibald because playing as Roland is a logical continuation of the storyline. :smile17:
Although, I enjoyed both campaigns. I even felt sad when I realized that 3DO merged all of this history, combining the icy and Armageddon's Blade storylines. :(

Roland is too kind; someone like that can't be a king.

Perhaps in Heroes of Might and Magic II, Roland initially seems like a more worthy candidate, but look at what happens to him later. His wife, Queen Catherine Gryphonheart, took over the governance of the country, while he was captured. I highly doubt that history would have taken such a turn if Archibald had become the ruler. Firstly, he wouldn't have been captured, secondly, the people and necromancers would have united, and thirdly, as in Might and Magic, Archibald acknowledged that after his petrification, necromancy had degraded significantly, meaning that if Archibald had continued to rule, knowledge of death would have been astounding (possibly), and there would have been fewer problems with the Krigans (demons). But this is only if some fanatic doesn't overthrow him, because all geniuses are considered madmen by the common people. Archibald is our king.

P.S. Roland is an excellent warrior, but he is not a king.
