The first long-awaited tournament on mirror templates

Spirit and idea of the tournament

Since the times of VT, everyone has been expecting an adaptation of mirror templates for SoD. And now it has happened. Here there is minimum room for "luck" and maximum opportunity to demonstrate your "skill".
Forward!

The tournament prize pool is 15000р. For first place – 8000, second – 4000, third – 2000, and 1000 rubles will go as a people's choice award.

I. Registration and Regulations:
a) The tournament starts on July 17, 2015.
b) Registration is open until July 16, 18:00 MSK.
c) The tournament bracket and system of conduct will be determined after registration closes depending on the number of participants.
d) In the event of a large number of registrants, a bracket option will be chosen to conduct qualifying games in the shortest possible time and weed out most participants so that only truly experienced players participate in further struggles and the tournament does not stretch over time.
e) To participate in the tournament, it is necessary by the end of registration to have at least 5 played and confirmed games on ХВ. Also, recently registered ХВ members who do not meet the requirement for the number of played games may participate if they are sponsors of the tournament (contribution of at least 1000 rubles to the fund) and have no past violations of portal rules.
f) The group stage deadline is until 31.08.2015.
g)The upper and lower bracket finals are played bo3 (one match diamond + h3dm1, if a 3rd match is necessary, a coin toss).
The Grand Final is played bo5, with a score of 1-0 in favor of the player from the upper bracket.

II. Rules and Templates:
a) By default, games are on version HoTA (1.3.8)+HD-mod with the HW-Rules 1.34 patch connected; by agreement, opponents may play SoD.
b) Color and the right to choose a hero are negotiated (therefore red-rush is allowed). First, castles are determined (in the case of mirror templates, it is the same), then negotiations for color and hero follow alternately.
c) Each player has the right to cross out 1 undesirable castle, as well as 1 hero before the start of negotiation for them (may choose not to use this right), after which a ban on these castles is set in HW-Rulz mode and a random 1-castle generator is launched. The game will be played with this castle.
d) The template for the game is chosen from two existing "mirrors": "mir_Diamond", "mir_h3dm1" by agreement; if an agreement cannot be reached, the choice is made by a coin toss in hw-rulz. 1 - h3dm1, 0 - mir_Diamond.
e) "Hit-and-run" is prohibited.
f) There is 1 subjective restart and objective restarts (restart due to a block (inability to leave the castle) or a severe generation bug).
g) Roads are medium.
h) It is forbidden to steal anything other than resources and chests from guards that have been shifted, or to visit objects (except mills) that do not have their own internal guards.
i) The use of diplomacy is prohibited except for paying off enemies.
j) Game timer is chess: 21+8,30+1,15. Starting difficulty - 160%.
k) Use of in-game bugs described in the rules on ХВ and various kinds of cheat codes is prohibited.
l) The main rule is game ethics and a respectful attitude toward the opponent.
m) Everything that is not forbidden by the rules is allowed.
n) For SoD, any building is allowed; however, in captured villages and towns, building an additional necromancy amplifier is prohibited, except in the starting town.
o) ДД no more than 1 time per day regardless of the "Air" skill level.

III. Organizational Issues:
a) The tournament is unofficial.
b) The tournament is conducted according to the Rules for organizing, conducting, and participating in HOMM3 online tournaments.
c) Tournament leaders and judges – Redwhait HP (658339987), KobRa_RR (286406830), Toganash (564224919). Chief judge - Dirty_Player (ICQ 408722873).
d) Leaders have the right to make any changes to the regulations and rules during the tournament, as well as the right to refuse participation to any player without a public explanation of reasons.
e) For each played game, participants must submit a report and confirmation.
f) Saves of all games must be kept until the end of the tournament and presented upon the first request of the tournament leader or judge.
g) The judicial decision is made primarily based on the tournament rules. If the situation that arose is not regulated by the rules, judges are guided by basic logic and game ethics.
h) All tournament games go into the seasonal rating. Reports and confirmations are written in this thread and will be copied to the "Online game reports and their confirmations" thread.

Good luck, and may skill win!!!

11.10.2015 Redwhait HP (Red, Castle, Caitlin, Kyre) def Pit for LM (Blue, Castle, Lord Haart, Valeska) Diamond 117

We agreed to play bo1

Bought color for 1400 and hero for 100. On the very first generation I get Cassiopeia, decide not to restart, and underneath her also Kyrre.
The layout turned out monotonous. 2 roads were blocked and both went into the sands (especially since the stable was in their direction) and came out to the native opponent's base.
In the sands, wings of about 50 trolls guarded it.
There were no particular problems with money, the cavalry stood confidently. The opponent had external dwelling of pikemen and archers. Nearby teleport also into the sands and from there not far to the road to the main opponent. I brought a herd of cavalry to Kyrre, powered up without getting caught on 116 and with 3k moves reach the opponent's main on 117. A lousy one unit of griffins in the citadel and a couple of unbought cavalry, after which came the surrender.
Thanks for the game.

We agreed to play a best-of-one match.

I bought a color for 1400 and a hero for 100. In the very first generation, I got Cassiopeia, and I decided not to reset, but instead, I also got Kirra.
The setup turned out to be monotonous. Two paths were blocked, and both went to the desert (especially since a stable was built in that direction), and they reached the main computer.
In the desert, about 50 trolls were guarding the wings.
There weren't any major problems with money; the horses were doing well. The main computer had a stash of picks and bows. Nearby, there was also a teleport to the desert, and from there, it wasn't far to the main outpost. I brought Kirra a bunch of horses, accelerated without being detected to 116, and with 3k movement points, I reached the main outpost on level 117. There was a weak hero on level 1 in the citadel and a couple of unbought horses, after which I surrendered.
Thanks for the game.
On level 111, I got some pretty good heroes - Gretchen, Corkes, and later, even Lina. Two adjacent zones were the desert and snow, so scouting was enjoyable. However, on level 112, I saw the wings near the road with free guards and realized that scouts weren't needed here... Among the other heroes, the best option was Valeska. However, on level 113, when I saw Kirra in the tavern, I understood that there was nothing to be gained here. And that's what happened; I was overwhelmed on level 117, everything was too close.
Thank you for the game!

It was a good game. The opponent quickly caught up in terms of map control and took the lead towards the end of the first week. I placed bears in the Castle in the town of Coma, and thanks to them, I started to gain momentum in the second week. In the middle of the second week, I took a Key Village with a horde of snipers and decided to attack the opponent's Citadel, where he also had bears. On day 127, I captured it, but he somehow managed to retake it with snipers and decided to defend the town on day 131. He had a Citadel with a Fortress – we exchanged blows, and I turned the tide of the battle by summoning air elementals. He then retreated to a standstill. I went to his plains to finish him off at his table, and I took it without a fight. He was mopping up in the neighboring treasure, got 12 efreets, miscalculated his moves, and was left with a mopping unit on the location. In my turn, I crushed him.
We replayed the Solmyr-Moner battle, and Moner had an advantage due to a rush with mass shields. Also, Grindan had a good fight in the war with a location, which was fun:D
Thanks for the game.

It was a good game. My opponent caught up in map development pretty quickly and pulled ahead by the end of the first week. I placed bears in the enemy town's castle and used them to start scaling up in the second week. Midway through the second week, I cleverly took the KV with a horde of snipers and decided to go for the opponent's citadel, where he also had bears placed. I captured it on day 127, but the opponent also took the KV with snipers and decided to retake the town on day 131. He had a citadel with a fort — we traded, I turned the battle around by summoning air elementals, the opponent traded down to zero — so he just ran away. I went to his flat to finish him off at his capital, took it without a fight. The opponent was moshing in a neighboring treasure zone, got 12 efreeti there, didn't calculate his moves right, and was left with a mosh on a loser. I finished it on my turn.
We replayed the Solmyr-Moner fight, Moner had the advantage due to rushing in with a mass shield. Also in the game, Grindan fought well in a loser war, that was fun :D
Thanks for the game.

I bought the color for 1900 and Moner for 200, built bears in the fort and gr. ruhs from the external dwelling in the first week, took the griffin conservatory with a single unit on day 121, and went to collect cyclopes, Moner leveled up well, even without magic, took expert archery, scout, and armor, gathered 27 cyclopes, and on day 127 broke through 90 snipers for the KV
using 4 stacks of fodder, placed fire birds, topped up 100 mana, and positioned under the split at the stables
On day 127, on his turn, the opponent recaptures my citadel and stays there overnight with Solmyr, he has 150 mana, 20 cyclopes, and some chaff, I decide to finish it because I have archery on 27 cyclopes, a fire bird, an angel, and gr. ruhs, in the end we trade to zero, he only has summoned elementals, and I have 0 gold from building the fire birds, so I run away
After that, still 0 gold, I take the cyclops dwelling with 1 fire bird, then with 8 cyclopes I take 3 fire birds from the scarlet tower, and 12 gr. efreeti from the box, I re-split at the stables so I can finish Solmyr next turn, and in the end Moner is one diagonal move short on the middle road to pick up the army near the castle, I have no gold for a hero, no resources, Solmyr finishes the army on the loser, gg
Thanks for the game, it was interesting and very close to a win from both sides

Updated the standings.
Diabler - Tofsla, you agreed to play on Thursday, I hope you'll finish in one match.
BA/IEHOK - RozenKran, you agreed to play a best-of-three, you don't have more time than the previous pair, otherwise I'll penalize you.

Since the first game with Valenok didn't go well right away, we agreed on a bo3.
Bought the color and hero for 2100. We chose different strategies. I went for gr. wivs on the 2nd, opp for gr. vamps. Mephala leveled up great and ran like a meteor with log, stables, gloves, and boots. On the 3rd, I found control, gathered 2 Dragon Utopia ones on both planes, and grinded 50 wivs and 8 angels. Opp never found control and decided not to waste time.
thx for the games!
