It is still unclear how HotA will coexist with SoD in the future

SoD. Rework for Mage Guild. Is it needed or not?
Great, let's create some clones now and hold a vote so that it's exactly what YOU like.
Скажу я вам, мои друзья.
Я некромант, я маг великий, и армия моя
Непобедимая, огромная!
And I simply don't understand the so-called trueSoDers. TrueSoD is played in GameRanger, and even there they restrict necros, Dimension Door, flight, and other things. You and I have been playing a completely different game for a long time now.
Осень-Зима 2013-14.
And even better, we could dedicate one day each year in every CIS country to reviewing legislation! A commission would be formed, everyone would express their opinions, and they would collectively make decisions. Everyone would see each other and know who's who, and there would be no more clones! )
I just don't understand Vick's position at all. He wanted to create a mage tournament — requested a checkbox. Restricting heroes is not the SoD way!!!
The checkbox for the mage tournament merely implemented programmatically what can be written into the rules. This isn't the first mage tournament; previously, restrictions were applied verbally.
Almost no one uses the checkbox for level 2, so there's no point of contention there. As for Reconstruction, judging by the mindset of those who voted "for", it's planned to eventually push it all the way through — as a mandatory option in all tournaments.
Besides, the level 2 checkbox can be emulated without issue by the rule "restart if level 2 is not built", meaning no new functionality is created.
What do you mean "it's not in the SoD spirit to restrict heroes" (going off to re-read the HeroesWorld rules).
The checkbox for the Mages' tournament merely implemented programmatically what could be written down in the rules. It's not the first Mages' tournament after all; previously, restrictions were enforced verbally.
By the way, the checkbox would be perfect for the Mages' tournament!
When someone provokes you with all sorts of nonsense, it can be hard to restrain yourself.
When a person loses and starts insisting that they are right, trying to either persuade or convince you, it's also not very pleasant to watch. Accept your own vote, be a man, Kober, you're a football player. When you lose matches or goals are scored against you, do you react like that?!
And even though they've scored 54 goals against you, and you've only scored 35, it doesn't matter who's on your team. Maybe that's how you'll understand:cool:
Okay, you convinced me. I won't include the heroine in my team.
Besides, the checkbox for level 2 can be easily emulated with a rule that restarts the game if level 2 isn't built, meaning no new functionality is created.
What rule emulates the checkbox for controlling neutral creatures?
But in practice, attempting to implement restructuring will lead to people taking away Vasia's favorite Tournaments. First, opponents will start persuading him to "play with restructuring...", he'll have to fend off each one, then they'll create a poll: "maybe we should play Favorites with restructuring?", and then some organizer will say: "now Favorites is played with restructuring, those who don't agree can just not sign up." That's it...
We've already been through this with the introduction of the chess timer. During the discussion, Dirty said that it wouldn't be mandatory in Tournaments, but half a year later, all Tournaments started using it, even though there wasn't even a poll about it. So, what they're writing here about making changes to the rules by majority vote doesn't work for us anyway. By the way, how does the chess timer relate to classic mayhem? What rule emulates it?

Kobra, like a man, fights to the end!
Still, I've been thinking, we really do need more points. I would vote for the checkmark and further discussion. As I already said, the overhaul does not suit me, where is your VT, remind me? But as an exception for offline tournaments, it would be very useful, and also for situations where you're having terribly bad luck with secondaries (all Citadels or having to run for a year), you could make it N times more expensive, though that rarely happens.

Technical enhancements are treated differently than changes to the gameplay. The timer is not part of the gameplay, in my opinion, but rather an organizational matter.
...I really don't want any kind of schism to happen, that's why I suggest we come to a peaceful agreement, but my opponents don't listen to me :smile32:
...The experience of the SoD-TE conflicts has shown its ineffectiveness, so I think it's wrong to force anyone to do anything. It's better to expand the niche by attracting new players, including those from abroad, because Heroes has long had a community of single-player enthusiasts.
