The First Tragedy
At the council, it was decided that each of the dreams would focus on what it does best. At night, the Nightmares were especially strong, so the main task was to survive until dawn. And with the first rays of the sun, it was no longer so scary to face the villains and together drive them out of the Kingdom. But the Fairy was not sure that everyone would survive this night…
Neyra Drake woke up to the bright sunlight shining directly into her eyes. She wanted to cover herself with a blanket and go back to sleep, but she only caused a fit of laughter from the spot of light sitting next to her on the pillow. Annoyed,
Neyra Drake took a newspaper and began to chase the impudent creature, which, with a cheerful laugh, easily dodged the inevitable punishment. After a vigorous chase, the victim of the annoying little beast got tangled in the curtain and could only shake its fist at the mischievous prankster, who was laughing heartily. When it finally ran off on its business,
Neyra Drake approached the mirror and let out a heavy sigh – as she suspected, her entire face had turned into one big freckle. With a sigh, the girl went to get her powder.
WishmasteR couldn't sleep. He went out onto the balcony and looked up at the night sky. The Northern Lights merged into intricate patterns, and at one point, the guy thought that a bear figure flashed at the very edge of the sky, creating this beauty. However, the artist, if it really was her, quickly hid behind a fluffy cloud, leaving
WishmasteR alone with the wonderfully colorful canvas, which disappeared only with the first rays of the sun.
Arandor hung a whimsical souvenir from a stranger over his bed – a woven net decorated with feathers and beads. He looked for a long time at the interlacing of patterns and shimmering sparks, lying in bed, but then he remembered that
MasteR had invited him for tea with pies. Getting ready,
Arandor headed to his friend's house.
MasteR warmly welcomed him. A large apple pie stood on the table, and the hostess secretly told the guest that the treat had almost burned – somewhere a cat was purring, creating such a peaceful atmosphere that
MasteR almost fell asleep by the stove. However, the smell of the finished baking would wake anyone up, and the pie was saved. There were three cups on the table, and the hostess said that she was waiting for someone else. While the samovar was heating up, she entertained
Arandor with a conversation.
- It's scary to think about what is happening in our Kingdom. If we disappear, who will take care of the children? Will they have nightmares until the end of time?
- Well, don't worry. As long as I'm alive, they won't.
- It's embarrassing to admit, but I was uneasy about inviting someone for tea. I don't really want to receive guests yet. You understand…
- Don't worry, I won't do anything bad to you.
- I'm glad to hear that. You know, the kids just adore me. It's a pleasure to watch their jam-smeared faces when they come to me to rest after their adventures.
- They treat me pretty well too. At least, they appreciate my efforts.
Their conversation was interrupted by the long-awaited second guest – a snow-white unicorn. The three of them sat down at the table and began to peacefully drink tea, chatting about trivial things. They were simply enjoying the peaceful moments, perhaps the last in their lives…
Heavy footsteps interrupted their idyll.
Arandor, quite frightened, crawled under the sofa. The unicorn, puffing out its nostrils, bravely stood up to meet the monster. A giant eye peered into the window of
MasteR's tiny house, and the snow-white beast bravely jumped, aiming its horn directly at the eye. The giant managed to move its face away, and the brave defender simply flew out of the window. The monster's hands easily knocked off the straw roof and grabbed the bewildered
MasteR. He tried to bite the monster, but his small teeth were powerless against the stone skin of the nightmare. The giant grinned cruelly, looking at its prey, then broke
MasteR's neck and threw it into its mouth. Having licked its lips contentedly, it kicked the unicorn, which had just stood up, and went about its nightmarish business.
Arandor crawled out from under the sofa and helped the unicorn get up. It shook its head and began to draw something on the ground with its horn and hoof. When it was finished, it became clear that it had written the number 101110011. To
Arandor's puzzled look, the beast replied that it seemed to have been badly injured.
In the morning, the Fairy said that one of her subjects had sent her a letter, and she read it aloud to the crowd.
I thank the Fairy Godmother for her trust, but I do not understand why she summoned me so quickly.
Dad, I don't quite understand your motives, but I will try to live up to your expectations.
Don't trust the Masters ;)
