Rex Ventorum is a potential superpower, a large state in the eastern part of Actea, and one of the main dominant forces on the continent and in the world. It possesses Actea's first economy, is a continental leader in the production of armaments, military and special equipment, and has the leading and most productive automobile industry, information technology, basket weaving, beverage sales, pizza delivery, and timber woodchipping.       Rex Ventorum is a corporatocracy managed by a so-called board of directors — a group of individuals overseeing various branches of state administration. Each member is elected by the current members of the board whenever a predecessor retires, dies, or is removed from office by a collective decision. This is the only form of suffrage; all other decisions are made according to the strict hierarchy of the corporation with the board of directors at its apex. The corporation maintains its power with an iron fist, managing the population through mass media and suppressing any protests using law enforcement forces and, occasionally, the army. Life in Rex Ventorum[/SIZE] Residents[/SIZE] Social security and healthcare are completely absent, religion is banned, and the level of social inequality is colossal, surpassed only by Qasardastan. In terms of self-realization, every person is left to their own devices. Population strata are divided into four categories, not only conventionally but also according to corporation documentation. Blacks Thirty-three million people (24% of the population) Legally, there is no slavery in the country and this issue is not discussed publicly; in reality, the situation is horrific. People of this category are forced to perform the hardest and dirtiest work on inhumane schedules. They live either in slums (small towns and remote areas of the country) or in cell-rooms measuring one by one meter (metropolises). These people lack any means of subsistence; they work either naked (small towns and remote areas of the country) or in numbered work uniforms issued by the corporation. The corporation provides them with a necessary minimum of food or leaves them no choice but to resort to cannibalism (population growth control). Becoming a black is not difficult — it is enough to run out of money or break the law without the ability to pay a fine. Children of blacks face a similar fate, as they retain their parents' "debt" to the corporation. Blacks are the dull, hopeless, criminal, and immoral part of the population. Greys Seventy-nine million people (57% of the population) The main body of the country's residents. Unlike blacks, they are (conditionally) free people who choose where to work and how to live. They mostly consist of rank-and-file employees in various fields of labor, performing a wide variety of work. Their labor is poorly paid; however, such earnings are quite sufficient to maintain normal life activities; for example, to drink a bottle of beer after a hard working day, comfortably settled on a sofa in front of the TV; or to enjoy the wonders of computer game development — relaxing by killing other players or having romantic relationships with a bunch of pixels; and sometimes one can unwind using alcohol or psychoactive substances, provided that you show up for work in a normal state, otherwise disaster awaits. The most promising (high-paying) job for these people is service in the army, which is why the RVAF always has enough volunteers, and thanks to the effective work of mass media and the education sphere, these people treat their country with love despite unfavorable living conditions. Whites Twenty-three and a half million people (17% of the population) The pride of the nation — scientists, athletes, executives, entertainment industry stars, engineers, IT specialists, brilliant doctors, and similar successful members of society. "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life" is a true phrase regarding these people. Residents of the most favorable districts (safe, beautiful, and well-equipped) live in prosperity and know no hardship. Blues Three million people (2% of the population). Private business owners (absolutely everything is privatized in Rex Ventorum), their families, and other wealthy individuals. Settlements[/SIZE] Metropolises Extremely large metropolises are characteristic settlements of Rex Ventorum — these are bright cities filled with majestic skyscrapers, where wide highways are spread everywhere like a web, and cars of national production drive upon them — the quintessence of style, quality, and performance. Wealthy residents of the country allocate funds from their own budgets to maintain order, so corporate districts and white-blue residential areas are kept in an aesthetically pleasing state of cleanliness. These cities also have gambling establishments and brothels (which are in demand exclusively among the few tourists and the grey category of residents; blacks have nothing to pay with, and such establishments are unpopular among the remaining strata of the population), and for the most part, a person of any interest will find something to occupy themselves with (provided, of course, that they have money). Green Zone A few small areas of territory (no more than 5% of the country's total area) of virgin nature, almost untouched by human activity; the only structures found in these lands are old-fashioned houses, castles, and estates. Private property of some representatives of the blue category of the population. Towns Small settlements located far from metropolises. They reflect as perfectly as possible the greyness of the life of the grey population stratum — hopelessness and a lack of prospects. The number of inhabited towns decreases every year because residents are rapidly moving to metropolises (excluding mining and other towns specializing in the extractive industry). Culture and Entertainment Industry[/SIZE] Sport[/SIZE] Amateur sporting activity among the general population is practically non-existent; people have no prerequisites for playing sports (lack of motivation plus a poor ecological situation in the country), and there is simply no time left for it. A somewhat different situation can be observed in professional sports — for talented and hardworking people, this is a path to fame and a comfortable life; for all others, it is a joy to behold. It is not hard to guess that in such a state of affairs, the most important detail of sport is spectacle and, as a result, figure skating can boldly be called the national sport of Rex Ventorum, as one of the most spectacular types of sports. Golf can also be noted — a popular sport among the owners of lands in the green zone. Language[/SIZE] The majority of the population speaks a modern version of an ancient language that originated in the territory of Rex Ventorum about two thousand years ago. Educated people also possess the international (Actean) language. "I've had just about enough of this!" fulminates concerned parent Hack de Jong, who seems purple with rage. "Our children's minds are being fed garbage on a daily basis by what they see on TV. Why just the other day I caught my kid watching a DVR recorded from a late-night cartoon where a clown beat a hooker to death with a vodka bottle! We need to stop the sex and violence on TV entirely, and limit the networks to decent family programming during daytime hours."
