The scariest thing is that it was precisely faith... politicians didn't kill, it was those who had faith who killed...
Posts from Your morality.
Many here believe that there is Absolute Light and Absolute Darkness.
So...
Imagine this situation.
The First Crusade, you are in the crusader army, and after taking the city, the commander orders to kill all prisoners. Among them is a boy, about six years old. You can save him, risking your life. But... you can also carry out the order and take on the sin of killing an innocent... although a pilgrimage will remove all sins, so what difference does it make, more or less...
What would YOU do?
P.S. In a month, I will give an answer to all possible scenarios.

I don't know what I would do, but I definitely wouldn't kill him. Even if I had the full opportunity to do so. To be honest, if I had the power and means, I would disfigure him and tattoo "murderer" on his forehead. Let him live with humiliation and the realization that I could have easily killed him. Maybe that's cruel, but that's how I feel about my family.
And you can be sure that he will do something like that; he has absorbed from birth that killing a "non-believer" is not a sin but a heroic act before the Almighty.
As for me, I would most likely kill him; at least, I know that he wouldn't suffer before death.:smile10:

P.S. And in general, run to the assassins, get high, run across rooftops, and kill arrogant crusader pedophiles:)
I didn't think the boy might grow up and seek revenge; a small, living captive who is unwanted by anyone is very dangerous (like a dog and a slit throat), so, unfortunately... There are two options here: if the boy was found in the middle of a field, I'll let him go (he will remember that there are noble people among the Crusaders), but if he's from a city that was destroyed, I'll kill him (he's too angry and will try to get revenge).
1) The boy will grow up and become just as ruthless a warrior and killer as his people.
2) The fact that you save him will only fuel anger and hatred in his heart for the humiliation you inflicted by saving him. Or do you think he can live knowing that as an adult, warriors will spit in his face and shout that he is a slave of the infidel who saved him?
3) The boy will die anyway. Without food, in a burned-out city, at the age of six. From illness, cold, hunger, or the sword of another Crusader.
4) It would be more merciful to send him to heaven; children's souls are pure, regardless of whether they are Christian or
I'll kill him. An order is an order.
Nowizard, my friend, don't forget that this boy is an "enemy," and not just any enemy, but a very dangerous one. If you spare him, your own people might not even kill you, but one night, this little one will undoubtedly slit your throat, and he will be completely right. After all, you came to his land, killed his people, destroyed their homes, and committed other bad deeds... But that's nothing; your comrades will grieve and bury you. The worst thing is if this boy throws a plague-ridden dog into the well from which your entire army gets its water. And then, your battle buddies, with whom you fight, scout, and go out for fun, will die of the plague. How will you look them in the eye?

Berserk, I thought about your post and completely agree. The only point that might slightly undermine (but not refute) everything else is that you take on a sin. Besides, you didn't give him life, and it's not up to you to decide whether to take it away or not. In any case, it's a complex issue, and you can argue about it for a very long time.
Is he a Muslim? Is that boy a Muslim? It would be foolish to let him live:
1) The boy will grow up and become just as ruthless a warrior and killer as his people.
2) Even if you save him, anger and hatred will grow in his heart for the humiliation you inflicted by saving him. Or do you think he can live knowing that as an adult, warriors will spit in his face and shout that he is a slave of the infidel who saved him?
3) The boy will die anyway. Without food, in the burned city, at six years old. From illness, cold, hunger, or the sword of another crusader.

The second point – are you saying that the guy will live in the city of those he hates, and why would he kill his savior instead of these scumbags who are talking?
The third point – maybe he's not as stupid as you think, or the savior isn't so stupid as to abandon him to his fate after saving him!
The fourth point – and you, with a clear conscience, will continue to be an executioner – no, thank you!
First, or perhaps the opposite – he might be grateful that you gave him another chance.
Second, are you suggesting that this guy would live in the city of those he hates, and why would he kill the savior instead of these scoundrels who are talking?
Third, maybe he's not as stupid as you think, or the savior isn't so foolish as to abandon him to his fate after saving him!
Fourth, and to continue being an executioner with a clear conscience – no, thank you!
And, by the way, for Muslims, only pagans are considered infidels; Christians are not included in that category.
