When frightened and wounded Taola finally got home, her brother Ratislav was already there, apparently just returned. Radimir sat on the bed counting Rheans.
-Exactly one thousand. - the Thyrian muttered thoughtfully, then turned his attention to Taola. -My brother's slave... Wait... Why are you injured? Where is Ratislav?
After listening to the girl's story, Radimir simply shook his head thoughtfully. -He really messed up, idiot. And I told him... Anyway, he can no longer be helped. Judging by your story, he encountered that gang of bandits from the Trade Quarter; I personally saw their leader in action. I fear Ratislav cannot be saved... -Radimir sighed heavily. -Here, take this, - the Thyrian handed Taola a potion of life, -the wounds will not heal, but it will become much easier. You say you brought Ratislav's things and money? Yes, maybe that was the right decision. -Radimir took Ratislav's belongings and then lay down on the bed and pondered. He stayed like that for about fifteen minutes.
-You know what, Taola. - Finally, the Thyrian said calmly to the girl. -I am going sailing instead of Ratislav. It was I who did not protect him from these damned thugs, from this accursed city; I and only I am guilty of his death. And I will continue his work. -Radimir put on the Ring of Nox, then took Ratislav's sword, left the house, and headed towards the old cemetery (it should be there), which was located on the very outskirts of Nevermore. The Thyrian stood for a couple of minutes, as if hesitating, and then thrust the sword into the ground. -Rest in peace, brother.***
After that, Radimir returned home, recounted the money brought by Taola, examined his brother's ingenious device.
-I have a rough idea of how one can completely subdue a person, an elf, or anyone else, making them a helpless slave to their master. - he said to Taola. -Apparently, even after Ratislav's death, you still see him as your master. What are you going to do now, Taola?
