Silly question... :o
Basically, when playing Heroes 3: The Shadow of Death, the system unit starts making strange noises in certain places. For example, when selecting the building construction screen... but as soon as I exit this menu, it stops immediately.
Has anyone else encountered this?:confused:

Well, firstly, it's not a stupid question, but rather a funny one – the fan in your computer case is making noise because it's the CPU fan. When you click on a building, scripts and files are loaded, and many other things happen. After that, the processor starts processing them. Since the fan speed directly depends on the number of operations in the processor's queue, it starts spinning faster and, consequently, making more noise. After you exit the building, the processor returns to its "normal operating mode," and the fan stops making noise. Basically, I've explained it in a way that you can understand, so those who know a lot, please don't laugh.

I had a similar issue, but the fan was always making a lot of noise. I cleaned it, and now everything is fine.

Heh, how often do you vacuum? I read in a computer magazine that you need to vacuum every 2-3 months and not place the system unit with the fans facing the wall.

You should only vacuum the inside of the computer case with an Electrolux vacuum cleaner.
And to stop the fan from making noise, you need to disconnect it and put the computer case in the refrigerator to cool the processor. You can also surround it with ice... or pour cold water over it.

Lelya and I came up with another idea... so there's also the option of using a barrel of pickled cucumbers... but the barrel has to be big enough for the computer case to fit inside without any problems.

It makes noise because the fan is clogged with dust. Take a brush, clean it, and the noise should go away.
