Of course, there is. It's one of the most interesting factions to play. Especially in the early game. Personally, I use a mage with a powerful "Despair" spell and a few agile units. The enemies don't even get close.

I feel like "Shades of Darkness" doesn't offer enough, and I really like Dark Elves, but in maps, I have to choose other factions.
