1st week: Gurney with logistics and earth magic, bears built at home in Castle, took Conflux and swamp.
2nd week: In the treasure zone 2 boxes of crap worth 50 and a box of ice crystals, Dragon Utopia 3 (sphere of vulnerability), cloak of magic, built phoenixes in Castle + external dwelling.
3rd week: Dragon Utopia 3 (chalice and sandals), then I go to the central treasure zone - nothing interesting there except a +2 cloak. I move up to the opponent, take his main, and there's a GM5 with Town Portal and flight. Very good. Scouting. Found the opponent's army, but was one tile short of reaching it. I don't know why, but I really felt like playing this particular template. We banned all the rest, the draw wasn't great, but playable. On the first week I built unicorns from the computer at the Citadel with an external dwelling. On the second week I decided to level Dace, since there were no daddies. Lost a bunch of troops in the treasure zone, built a GM5 at home with Town Portal and flight, but you can't fly much because there's no mana. Gurney, with superior stats, broke the GO. I only found a Dragon Utopia. Gurney took the main with Town Portal. After that I realized there was little chance. In the Dragon Utopia I got the book of air, book of earth, and wings. I could have hidden and run around treasure zones since I had decent heroes, but I didn't feel like it somehow, so Sephiroff attacked with implosion, but there's a cloak and that's GG. I didn't start my post with this quote from the organizer for no reason. And now I will share how my rose-colored glasses were shattered, and a bright light cut through my eyes.

I have been participating in tournaments mainly since the end of last year and the beginning of this one; therefore, as I realize now, I do not possess many skills regarding behind-the-scenes intriguing bustle.

After making it to the group stage of this tournament, I enthusiastically began arranging games with opponents to play my matches sooner—to make life easier for myself and the organizers, so to speak. And now, first lesson: you absolutely must not do this. It is better to drag things out until the last moment; as for the organizers grumbling—from what I've gathered from current events—they are contributing to it themselves. Now let me explain my position and the origin of this opinion:

I didn't take the first two games seriously enough and lost them easily. Then I pulled myself together a bit and managed to win 1, but I lost the next one again—lost to Gomunkuls, which I'm not too ashamed of because the opponent is actually strong. In the end, the picture looks as follows, as presented in Fig. 1.

It is easy to see that Gomunguls is 100% advancing from the tournament. But then the situation is this: I (Toganash) have a higher chance of being knocked out of the group; however, if I don't lose any more games and opponents darkello and Lebron don't play their best and both lose their games to Gomunkuls—my chances of advancing from the group increase. But even if that didn't happen, I would have maintained high motivation to play and show a good game because of the enthusiasm I felt toward this tournament. But what is actually happening? This is what occurred.

I don't know who initiated it, but the fact remains. And here is how I imagine it. The opponents, seeing the table of played games, already calculated who was more likely to be knocked out and who wanted to advance from the group, forgetting about sporting principles and fair play.

Thus, Gomunkuls and Lebron decided to simply make a deal. The essence of the deal is as follows: The game is recognized as a draw without the actual game taking place (indeed, why play when you can settle everything this way, despite the posts about battles of titans with dual streams and other pathos? The "titans" decided, as usual, to do everything quietly and hand their decision down to the people—and we still criticize the government, calling them hypocrites, but one must start with oneself). The essence of such a deal is simple: Gomunkuls saves time (he's advancing from the group anyway), and Lebron receives 0.5 points in a match where he would most likely have lost and received no points. Thus, he gets an undeserved bonus over other group participants. Now it's easier for Lebron: he only needs to beat me twice (he apparently calculated that this wouldn't be difficult) and darkello at least once, then he advances from the group, while darkello and I are knocked out accordingly. You should ask the organizer who, in a private conversation in the game, told me that these kinds of agreements (open ones, not secret ones) are permissible! I completely agree with what Toganash wrote. I also expressed my opinion earlier in this thread, stating that forcing such draws in these tournaments is the height of disrespect. In general, all three of them ended up acting poorly (this is my personal opinion), even Vitaly, whom I generally have a good relationship with and have known on this forum for a long time. There were also problems with LeBron, whom I trusted and picked for KotH – he simply disappeared without even notifying anyone, even though he had the opportunity to do so and had confirmed in advance that he could play (why? it's unclear), so I had to put in a technical default (there were two of them in total throughout the year). Darkello was also involved here with his handmade save replacement. :)\
This is what happens when people are just being themselves. A normal, honest player wouldn't do something like this. It's a shame that there are so few of them.
