STAR WARS is cooler – all those scrolling texts and distant galaxies – it’s romantic. Jedi, Sith, droids, clones – it’s awesome. Besides, it’s a larger piece of the gaming industry than Warhammer.

I like both. Star Wars – for its romance, Warhammer 40k – for its spectacular battles and interesting ideology and religion.

Besides, it's a much larger part of the gaming industry than Heroes of Might and Magic.

What part are you talking about? Are you kidding or are you just not familiar with the subject?

Comparing these concepts is pointless (it would be more meaningful to compare it to Star Trek)...
Star Wars is originally a FILM! And only later, much later, came the games, books, etc.
Warhammer is originally a UNIVERSE FOR A TABLETOP GAME. And then it was adapted for computers, books, etc. (if you want, here's a Russian website about the universe itself: http://warhammer40k.ru/, and here's one about the tabletop game: http://warhammer.ru/). Moreover, there are TWO universes: the first is Warhammer Fantasy, and the second is Warhammer 40k. They exist independently of each other... And there are still debates about whether a planet from Fantasy Warhammer actually exists 40,000 years before the events of Warhammer 40k, or if it exists simultaneously but is separated from the universe (in this context, as a "collection of planets") by a warp field. Anyway, we could talk about this for a long time...

So, it's better to close this topic... Because there was already one "What's cooler, Heroes or Warcraft," which had about the same amount of meaning...

and I haven't played either of those games, and Heroes is the best!

I like Warhammer. It seems more diverse... Star Wars is in second place, but only slightly, because of its atmosphere.

WarHammer40k – for its “lore”. I read some articles about the history of the world (Lore, again:)), and I liked it...

I really like W40k, especially Dark of Chaos – it's beautiful and dynamic (and very stylish too). Overall, beauty is a powerful force!

Regarding "WH: Fantasy Battles"? There are about 35 novels with "semi-plot" storylines and about 20-30 TYPES of rules!!!
True, there are more books on Star Wars... but Star Wars is also more well-known (+ there are EVEN MORE books on the Forgotten Realms:)).

Star Wars has a lot ahead of it – after all, it's Lucasart, and the Force is with them.
And with current examples like Half-Life and Dark Messiah, they'll definitely be successful!

Both are simply wonderful. The fairy-tale quality of Star Wars (essentially just fantasy in a futuristic setting) takes your breath away, but the originality of Warhammer blows my mind! When I heard the Force Commander say: "I command in the name of the Emperor," I was absolutely thrilled! For once, they moved away from those clichés with federations and atheism/free religion and created something truly original!
By the way, some Space Marine phrases carry a lot of meaning — "Heresy grows from idleness" (needs no comment) or my personal favorite, "It is better to die for the Emperor than to live for yourself" (if you understand the word "Emperor" here as some kind of idea, then this is the creed of many, many people). And the Tech-Priests awakening the machine spirits... And the Eldar with their rustling, lifeless voices... And the spore-reproducing Orks with their fantastic illiteracy... Not to mention Chaos, which I sometimes played as just to hear what the troops say... Wow!:)

Yeah, Star Wars won't die, just like Warhammer... but Warhammer... I don't know, it doesn't appeal to me, it just doesn't... and the orcs look kind of unnatural there.
