2Preds: I played online with Dubrovin back then, and it was more of an experiment than a real competition. It's unlikely that this can be considered an example applicable to the CIS region.
Regarding versions, templates, etc., I think the Siberians should act like this: "We'll give you what we have, and that's what you'll play with! A harsh approach from Lukashenko!" ))
By March 1, 2014, we'll have an approximate list of participants, and then we can argue properly. But for now, let's take a breath.
Regarding versions, templates, and so on, I think we should follow the Siberian approach: "We'll give you what we have, and that's what you'll play with! Harsh gameplay from Lukashenko!" ))
Then we'll have to make the fans play on the polished garbage from the same father :D Although, everyone who went to Siberia knew that it would be SOD ;)
Year? Please, don't even mention it :D Zhenya is even lazier than me, Valenok, and FTS combined :D We still haven't finished one joint project.
The problem isn't that I'm too lazy, although I admit I have that flaw... the problem is that when I wrote to Pete last year about my desire to organize a few tournaments, I received a negative response, citing the fact that there were already plenty of tournaments running, and there was no need to clutter up the online forum, so that people would at least play in the tournaments that already exist. This year, I haven't brought up this topic yet, but there haven't been significantly fewer tournaments. You yourself, Kostyan, are putting obstacles in the way of our project with your new "2 vs 2" tournament, even though the previous team tournament ended just a couple of weeks ago :D

And that's exactly how it should be done! If you're the organizer, you should come up with the rules. Your task is to prepare a stable and working version without glitches and bugs. It's also your task to plan the schedule so that there are no delays or missed deadlines. If you can combine these two points, you're doing great! In Odessa, this wasn't quite successful. GoD

Let's make it simpler. We'll open registration on February 1st and start on March 1st. Are you ready? By that time, everyone will have dropped out of M200, the Team Tournament, Favorites, and the Champions League, and we can play calmly. And we'll shift the OFB schedule. But let's discuss this topic tomorrow on ICQ.
Can you name even one reason? Besides the fact that the L size is too large for the template, and no one has created adequate content for the M size.
Not interesting. That's a significant reason.
And the main reason is the abundance of critical bugs.
It is the presence of several starting castles that makes it possible to get interesting gameplay in the conditions of early contact. In fact, this is the main feature of this family of templates, and not a problem.
That's great! But you need to take into account the conservatism of the Heroes community. New and unfamiliar things are automatically considered bad.
This is, precisely, a purely subjective reason). That's why it's not interesting, because the gameplay turned out to be drawn-out compared to a usual Jebus Cross. If the map is smaller, it will be a perfectly playable template.
And the main reason is the abundance of critical bugs.
We're talking about a specific template — what bugs could there be?
Well, that's great! But one must take into account the conservatism of the Heroes brotherhood. Anything new, unfamiliar — is shit by default.
Calling the main gameplay-shaping element of a template a problem while simultaneously suggesting playing on that template is, at the very least, strange.
And don't take everything personally)
Don't present your own opinion as the ultimate truth, then there won't be any comments like this. Otherwise, this template is unplayable, that one is unplayable, and for unknown objective reasons at that. Or at least provide some kind of justification. So nothing personal)
Wouldn't it be better to first determine who is participating, and then decide? Otherwise, it seems we're already heading towards Hote :D
The practice is generally standard, but here's the problem: before Odessa, the message was, "Come on over, we'll be glad to have you" - playing War of the Throne wouldn't be a problem; if necessary, we could initially pair people up in a random draw with universal players who don't care what they play. Thank goodness Scorpion responded and Redwhite came, who hadn't played War of the Throne before. Now, unfortunately, the position is sliding towards: "We'll make you play War of the Throne" (whether it's a full game or adapted for SoD is a secondary question). In Kyiv, many guys said something like: "What's the point of going to Minsk if they'll force us to play War of the Throne?" KobRa_RR
Maybe the Yekaterinburg players will give us a new War of the Throne release; you never know!
Tema, you might be hoping for that, but I'm afraid of it: I'd rather not test an unproven, buggy new version for a week before the tournament or even during the tournament - for example, our game in Odessa was enough for me.
Moreover, the issue of bugs inherent in War of the Throne still remains: this includes more frequent desynchronizations in player vs. player battles, and misunderstandings with experience gained when defending a castle from the AI during a rush, etc.
Kosti's argument, "the organizer must ensure a stable version," is valid, and I agree. There's no arguing with that. So, I've decided: if we can't convince Asma to finish the VT – the championship will be held on SoD (except for x3dm1 – it will be on VT under SoD). But if we manage to achieve the impossible and get through to "the top of the Urals," and VT is fully functional by March 31, 2014, then the main version for the tournament will be VT.
Regarding the rules, Vasya and I came up with them back in Odessa: a purely Olympic format, and the first round will be played on mirrored maps without any churches, discussions, or trading. Issues with time and cheaters will be resolved from the start. Starting from the second round, it will be... Well, I'll explain that in detail later.
1 round on mirrors... what nonsense? If you want to do a mirror, do it in the final, especially since it's an Olympic event. Otherwise, it turns out round 1 is a mirror, but in the final there will be some Jebus Cross and the arguing will start about what the generator gave to whom... Personally, this policy makes me think that maybe it's not worth going, or going only for round 2, because I'm going to enjoy the game, not to play a mirror I've never played before

Vasya and I came up with it, and now you're saying it's bad? What nonsense.
The main concept has been stated many times above. Any VT player can play SoD, but not every SoD player can (let alone wants to) play VT. So, think about it...
I'll go no matter what (at worst, I'll chat/have a drink with Kostya), but I'm starting to doubt whether I'll play.:)
And I also want to go; I've already arranged my vacation for it (with my job, May holidays don't count as days off:mad:), but playing "Harsh PvP from Lukashenko!" doesn't really appeal to me, especially with the obligation... IMHO, because of this, many people will refuse to go.
Maybe it will be possible to make 2 grids (WT and SoD), so that no one is offended and everyone can play their own version, and then find some kind of compromise for the final.
