Where can I read about the essence of your "16:8:1" timer and so on? If I have to play SoD, I would at least like to know the rules and conditions. I've read the ХВ rules, but couldn't find any info regarding the timer. Thanks in advance. L.
(1) 16 - initial time reserve
(2) 8 - time added each turn for moving around the map
(3) 1 - time for a battle (if the battle ends sooner, the time reserve doesn't accumulate)
The time reserve (1) is used for securing the game and for moving around the map (2) and battles (3), if a battle takes more than a minute.
It seems this was the case a few versions of the HD mod ago.
There are also persistent rumors that the chess timer is buggy and that work is constantly being done on it in the HD mod.
P.S. And also - 1 minute per battle with an initial time reserve of 16 is essentially a blitz game.
The chess timer only glitches when playing against different versions, or if the game started on version 57 or earlier, and the save was continued on later versions. Otherwise, it's stable now, except that on the latest versions, if there are problems, you won't be able to adjust the timer when loading a save (essentially the same as in World of Warcraft).

Added after 10 hours and 31 minutes Information Bureau reports! The exiled heroes - PREDS, DD, Bloodlaiker, Lizard, and Napalm, successfully invaded the Siberian expanses a few hours ago. They were delivered to the address where they are probably drowning their bitter fate and waiting for further execution! ;-)
