Um, I don't know how else to title this thread so that the meaning is clear:confused:. The point is this: I bought Heroes 5 and Heroes 5: Hammers of Fate in an online store. Now I want to buy Heroes 5: Tribes of the East, but I want to buy it on Steam. The question is: Will Tribes of the East work as a standalone game, i.e., do you necessarily need the previous versions for it? If so, does that mean I can buy it on Steam, and it doesn't matter?

That's correct, the Stronghold does not require any previous expansions.
