Let's not let the Dungeon girls suffer! We'll give you a hydra!
And the hydra will be happy too:D And the Dungeon girls won't let themselves be mistreated. One with a crossbow, another with a dinosaur, the third with a whip:) And with feminist tendencies;)<
I can confirm that they won't let anyone push them around! Here are my first two battles in the demo duel:
Finally, I got my hands on the demo, and I immediately jumped into a duel. I played two battles as the Dungeon faction, the first against the Academy and the second against the Haven. I won both, and I can share my tactical formations. So:
Against the Academy, we combine everyone we have, resulting in 4 stacks: 15 Matriarchs (placed in a corner), 26 Witches (in another corner), 220 Furies (in the center, in the second row), and 62 Raiders (placed away from the Witches, in case Jora casts a spell before the Raiders' turn). The Furies' first turn: attack the Djinns (20 remaining, reduced to 2). Next, my Raiders move (after the Djinns are defeated, having taken out 4 Furies): they attack the Rakshasa (out of 10, 5 are defeated; they have tough skin). Then, my Matriarchs are hit by Chain Lightning (3 are defeated, along with 9 Furies). It's the Matriarchs' turn: Confusion is cast on the mages. Eruina casts Meteor in the corner where the Archmages, Golems, and Goblins are located (340 damage to the ranged units, 150 to the Golems). The 26 Witches simultaneously eliminate another 11 Archmages. The Witches fire at the Archmages (another 12 are defeated, leaving 26 out of 60). The Archmages fire at my Raiders, and Confusion only defeats three of them. My agile Furies move ahead in the turn order and attack the Rakshasa (they are next to my Raiders; I use Lizard Byte): another 4 are defeated. His Golems, Gargoyles, and Goblins damage my Raiders, leaving 19, but the Golems move away from the ranged units, allowing me to attack the Archmages with the Raiders (15 are defeated) and block the Goblins. From here, it's just a cleanup, as Gargoyles and Golems are not effective against Furies. The Raiders hold out for 2 more turns against the Golems and Goblins, using Defense. The Furies eliminate 160 Gargoyles in that time. The Witches and Matriarchs shoot down the Goblins. Two more "cannon fodder" units are lost, resulting in 19 Furies and 6 Matriarchs lost. However, the Meteors finish off the mages and Goblins. In the end, my Ladies happily finish off the Golems.
In the end, there are 26 Witches, 6 Matriarchs, and 189 Furies remaining.
Against the Haven, we combine the Furies, Raiders, and Witches, and split the Matriarchs into 4 stacks (4+4+4+3).
The Furies attack the Griffons (out of 40, 33 are defeated), after which he has the opportunity to use the remaining 7 for Battle Dive. The Raiders attack the Paladins from the flank (out of 20, 15 are defeated; Lizard Charge is just great; it completely negates his huge knightly defense). One of my Matriarchs manages to move before the Archangels and casts Confusion on the Marksmen. 6 Archangels attack my Raiders (by the way, I don't understand if the Paladins have an ability that allows them to attack simultaneously; my Raiders killed 15, but they took damage as if from 20, resulting in 28 casualties). Another 11 Raiders are lost, but next, my wonderful Eruina steps in and casts Meteor on the Archangels, Paladins, and Swordsmen, defeating 2 Archangels (almost defeating another), 4 Paladins, and 14 Swordsmen. The Furies eliminate 3 Archangels in their second turn. 7 Griffons from Battle Dive land on my Witches, but they don't take down a single one. The remaining 3 stacks of Matriarchs defeat the Griffons and cast Confusion on the Inquisitors. His hero runs across the field and defeats one Matriarch. My Witches fire at the Marksmen, dealing 50 damage. His Swordsmen run forward towards my Furies, and the Inquisitors and Marksmen almost finish off the Raiders (3 remaining). Eruina casts a second Meteor on the Marksmen and Inquisitors. The Furies attack the advancing Swordsmen and defeat more than half of the stack. His last Archangel revives 10 Marksmen, and the Paladin is defeated by the Furies. My Matriarchs (all 4 stacks) "nullify" the Inquisitors' defense, after which the 26 Witches defeat 8 of the remaining 11. Eruina finishes off the Inquisitors and Marksmen with Meteor. The Swordsmen finish off the last 3 Raiders, and his hero defeats another Matriarch. The Furies finish off the last Swordsmen, and the Matriarchs and Witches defeat the last Archangel.
In the end, 13 Matriarchs, 26 Witches, and 175 Furies survive.
I had a lot of fun with the graphics and my favorite faction. Thank you, dear developers

I also liked the Dark Elves the most, especially their combat style and appearance. :) I won against everyone except the Sylvan faction. IMHO, they should have given them a smaller army in the demo.
Hooray! I finally defeated Ossir. This is my most memorable experience in Heroes of Might and Magic 5 so far. Here's how it went:
My setup: 26 Witches in the left corner, 1 Matriarch next to them diagonally, 12 Matriarchs in another corner with 1 more next to them diagonally, Furies in front of the 12 Matriarchs, Raiders on the other flank (I combined both groups), and 1 Matriarch in the center (this prevented him from teleporting Treants to immediately engage my creatures).
His setup: Two stacks of 56 Hunters in the corners, Druids next to one of them, Fairies and Dancers in front of them, 24 Treants nearby, and 31 Unicorns further back.
The battle: The Furies faced the unprotected Hunters and quickly overwhelmed them. The Fairies killed 2 Furies with a spell. He used Defense with the Dancers. The lone Matriarch cast spells on the Raiders and, on the second attempt, cast Confusion on the Druids. He positioned the Unicorns in the center of the field. I attacked with 26 Witches and 12 Matriarchs against the second stack of Hunters, and the Raiders destroyed 19 Unicorns, losing 9 in the process. His Ossir cast Mass Divine Strength. My Eruna used Meteor, destroying all the Fairies, 10 Druids, and 1 Treant (the Witches also attacked the Treants, destroying another 1). 50 Druids, with good luck, killed 110 Furies, but fortunately, their morale didn't trigger. On the second turn, the Furies destroyed 7 Unicorns. There were no Hunters left after the Meteor. Then, the Raiders, with their spells, quickly destroyed 8 Treants. The lone units cast spells on the large stacks of Witches and Matriarchs. The Druids managed to attack again, dealing 36 damage and, again with good luck, killing another 80 Furies. His Ossir, on the second turn, cast Righteous Might on everyone (increasing attack by 9), after which the Treants dealt heavy damage to my Raiders. However, the next Meteor, combined with attacks from the Witches and Matriarchs, finally finished off his Druids. 15 Furies attacked the Unicorns one by one. I didn't attack the Treants with the Raiders; instead, I used Defense to delay them by one turn. He finished off the Raiders and teleported the Treants, but my lone units were still useful – they blocked the path to the main stacks. That's it – I then enjoyed watching as my creatures showered the puppets with arrows and lightning. I saved 14 Matriarchs and 14 Witches.

Sorry for creating a new topic, but I couldn't find a suitable one for this message. Don't you think that the Dark Elves in the game are completely copied from the Dark Elves of Forgotten Realms? Yes, there are some elements imposed by the creators of the previous series (like minotaurs). But overall, the race is almost entirely copied from Forgotten Realms, even their vulnerability to destruction magic. I'm not against it, but... I'm interested in the opinions of others.
Yeah, completely. And in "Forgotten Realms," minotaurs were slaves. It's written about in R. Salvatore's book "Starless Night." IMO, dark elves are very popular now, so they're being added to all sorts of games.
Message from Uke-by_HoMM![Zavulon] Honestly, it would have been better to leave the Tragladi and Manticores in the Dungeon, or, at worst, settle the Dwarves there.
The Tragladi and Manticores belong there, but I won't allow Dwarves to be placed there, not even as a last resort... P.S. "Society for the Protection of Dwarven Rights." SPDR :D
So, I hid this from you for so long…? I’m saying it again, I didn’t rape that dwarf… :D And as for the Dark Elves, it’s better to let them go, although with their sadomasochistic tendencies, it’s probably better to hide them somewhere deep…

Don't worry, the investigation will sort it out. We'll put you through a few more versions of the interrogation, and in about 13 years, you'll be hanging out with the Dark Elves in the depths. Just a warning: they have a complete matriarchy, so draw your own conclusions...
Message from Night Well, all fantasy universes are similar. Lord of the Rings, Heroes, Forgotten Realms, Elder Scrolls – they all have something in common.
You are right, because we are all human, and there is such a thing as a fantasy world, and it doesn't differ much; it is formed from individual opinions and versions, and that's why the world... is similar to the world. I don't think there's anything surprising about that. After all, there's no need to reinvent the wheel. ;)
Well, all fantasy universes are similar. Lord of the Rings, Heroes, Forgotten Realms, Elder Scrolls – they all have something in common.
I would ask you not to compare Heroes 5 with the great The Elder Scrolls:) They have nothing in common. Look at the dark elves in TES III Morrowind and the dark elves in Heroes 5. The difference is obvious. Because in TES, the dark elves are normal (patriarchy, etc.), while in Heroes, they have a phase shift (matriarchy, etc.). In TES III, they worship daedra and aedra, as well as the Great Tribunal or the Almsivi. And in Heroes 5, they worship some dragons.
