And May is fine. May definitely didn't want to show herself for a long time, but in the end, curiosity overcame common sense, and she peeked out onto the deck.
The sailors stood motionless, Vlad and the captain were clearly puzzled by what was happening.
--What Kraken are you talking about? -- one of them asked.
The action proved successful: the captain tried to call the sailors to order, but they screamed and pounced on him and Vlad, tying them up with ropes in a matter of seconds. They didn't pay any attention to May, who was standing aside.
The sailors noticed the movement and, with grimaces on their faces, began to surround May. But suddenly, they all stopped: a strange, low sound came from the water. May recognized it all too well...
- Oh, here's your kraken. Don't be afraid, just poke it with a burning stick. I did that, and it's really fun, - chatting with the sailors, May took a more advantageous position for retreat.
The position was actually quite good, but it didn't prove very useful: a large false tentacle emerged from the water. The sailors rushed away from it, and the deck instantly emptied: they all voluntarily moved overboard and swam towards the shore. And they swam quite well, using the crawl stroke, even though a quarter of them couldn't swim that morning.
“Hurry, May! Hurry!” Vlad urged.
“Yessss, king of the seas, I greet you, mighty Gish-Kraken! Prepare to perish at my hand!” the bound captain bellowed, trying to sound imposing.
The False Tentacle began to climb onto the ship.
