Vlad led her to a tavern, where a stern-looking fellow was sitting at a table: he had a scar across half his face, and one finger was missing from his right hand. His voice was rough and hoarse.
"Ah, yes, I know you," he said, pointing at May. "Your name is Ashley! Quarto Island, ten years ago, the 'Jumping Horse' tavern!"
“Don’t pay attention to him; he’s not quite himself,” Vlad said loudly, not caring if anyone heard him. “The main thing is that he has a trough of sufficient size.” “Not just a trough, but a decommissioned battleship!” Polo declared proudly.
--With a crew! A full crew of walking dead, zombies, and ghosts! --They would look more lively if he fed them properly, -- Vlad chimed in. In another part of the tavern, a Yoru climbed onto a table (a halfling was also sitting at the table). He said that he and his companion had killed a terrible werewolf monster and were ready to repeat the feat against any other monster.
- So, we'll have to feed them! As May headed towards the exit, she overheard a conversation between Yoru and suggested that Vlad take this couple with him. Just in case.
– Well, he’s probably lying about everything. Never mind, there are plenty of other people, – Vlad replied.
– Hey, hunters! Have you heard about the Kraken?
A couple wished them good luck, and a stern boatswain led Vlad and May to the pier. There, they saw a magnificent warship: it had huge white sails and even a steam engine, and there were countless cannons. Brave sailors with wide smiles were working hard on it, ready to carry out their commander's orders at any moment.
