Epilogue
"Royal Mercy"
Siegfried and a squad of knights from the order burst into the guardhouse where Velrad was snoring on a soldier's cot after getting drunk again. Allegedly for treason against Temeria based on a forged order from King Foltest, the swordsmen cut him down in his sleep…
The Witcher understood what this step would cost him, but Geralt no longer cared. He didn’t even bother to excessively justify himself by saying that he was doing the right thing, for the good of the whole country – the Witcher only felt a burning desire for revenge, pure and undiluted by moral codes.
Under the cover of night, he entered the palace. Silently, one royal guardsman after another collapsed to the floor. He entered the princess's chambers.
-Foltest has created a truly terrible monster. Your previous form now seems far less dangerous to me than your current one.
-Ah, poor Witcher, longing for his sorceress! - Adda replied venomously, - A mutant who decided that he is capable of love! A mutant who decided that he is capable of feeling anything at all! What now? Pseudo-desire to administer justice?
-Does it really matter? At least you haven't stooped to begging.
-I can just kneel if you want,- she winked.
Geralt felt disgust, a strong, nauseating disgust. And guilt. If he had killed her long ago, none of this would have happened. But could he have known?
Without answering her, he raised his sword.
-So we will meet soon,- said the princess before the Witcher cut off her head.
Now all that remained was to find Dandelion and run. Run without looking back…
That same night, sensing danger, the leaders of the "Salamandra" also fled from Vizima. No one knows where they went, but something tells us that we won’t see them again anytime soon.
Victory for the City!
