Is the option of holding the event at a venue in the city (like a conference hall) no longer being considered?

You were in Michurinsk for the CIS Championship, staying in a dormitory – what kind of conference halls are there? The first two options were just the same university dormitories. Add to that the typical, slight snobbery of city dwellers towards less affluent people from other cities... who would give me a conference hall for 4 days, including the Christmas holidays? And what if I were a terrorist? Wouldn't it be unpleasant to come in the morning for the tournament and find a huge, heavy lock on the conference hall door? Guys, the most important thing in tournaments is reliability, so that players have 100% confidence that the tournament will take place.

As an option, we could play in the hotel rooms. The rooms are for 4 or 6 people; we can rent an extra room specifically for playing... our guys are used to playing in any conditions, as are Yama-Dharma and Stinger; the others might not like it.

The club is not far away; the tournament could start around 10-11 am, and the last matches could end around midnight. The metro runs until 1 am, and it takes 4 minutes to walk to the metro station.

Maybe you could post the rules and templates so that we can start preparing? And in general, it would be good to design the first page.

Hello everyone! (in Bulgarian) I'm so tired of having to register, it's a nightmare. Please do something about it!!! I am officially submitting my application to participate in the SoD championship. I spoke with Nagana on the phone. I would be happy to play and meet such players as Pit, scorp, Sevensan, and I especially hope to see the legend of the Heroes world, Stinger, there :D I also hope that the great Gomunguls will come ;) Prepare Balance and Jebus properly, it will be tough :D :smile19:

Eric, conduct a poll: should we gather at the club or at the accommodation (in 4/6-bed rooms with laptops/and we don't need to book extra rooms, as half of them will be empty anyway during the games)?

I don't need accommodation; I have a place to stay.

The most insidious language, where a table is a chair. A bun is a bride, a t-shirt is a mother, a mountain is a forest, "kak" is not a bad word, but a very good one. "Gore" is not grief, "prijatel" is not a friend. I almost went crazy talking to Bulgarians when I was in college. Even the word "end" has a different meaning for them. You can't ask them for matches, they'll get offended. You shouldn't talk about chickens either, they'll get offended.

Why not play? In the worst case, you can always withdraw from the tournament or get eliminated. The club has about 30 computers, so there are places. Although, just in case, laptops wouldn't hurt, in case we have to finish playing somewhere else.

What about spectators, guys? At least 2 people will probably come with me.

P.S. Regarding accommodation, I'm currently booking for 6 people, 5 from Michurinsk + Scorp. Mizrael said he would stay with relatives. Please let me know if participants and guests need accommodation, as it's time to book rooms.

Regarding computers, we are currently booking 14, but it's not a problem, we can arrange it a few days before the start.

Eric, Peter was asking about the deadlines, and I'll repeat – what are the deadlines? (I would update the first post) For me, the hotel is not a problem; if I come, I'll find a place to stay.

January 4th to 7th. 1 round per day, playing from 10:00 to 24:00, some will finish quickly, others will play until the very end. Since there are many players, we will use a Swiss-system tournament with 4 or possibly 5 rounds. Playing doubles takes a long time. Most likely, the winner will have to win all matches. For example, with 20 players: Round 1 - 10 winners, Round 2 - 5 winners, Round 3 - 2 or 3 winners, Round 4 - 1 or 2 winners. If there are 2 winners, there will be an additional, fifth round.
