Just a little bit of statistics, okay?
The last decent Mafia victory was in game 45.
Games 46 and 56 were a complete mess, and as a representative of the winning Mafia, I can confidently say that if it weren't for the chaos that was happening, we would have lost.
Game 47 - the Town wins.
Game 48 - the Town wins.
Game 49 - the Town wins.
Game 50 - the Town wins.
Game 52 - the Town wins.
Game 53 - the Town wins.
Game 55 - the Town wins.
Game 57 - the Town wins.
Game 51 - the Serial Killer wins, and as always, the Town prefers to give the victory to the Serial Killer rather than to themselves. lol.
Game 54 - the Mafia wins, but the GM is to blame for the unbalanced game, as confirmed by a representative of the winning side.
Now, gentlemen, I propose that we ban those who are playing Mafia for the first or second time from hosting games.
Because it's pointless. Give more Mafia games to Revan, Zubr, Nebu, Hostor, Vistrit...
Because you don't know how to run games properly.
I'll just state a simple truth.
Block and redirect abilities are already a reason to give the Mafia 2-3 more players than usual.
Notes are just awful. It's good that it's not like it used to be, when every decent Town member considered it their duty to reveal themselves in a note. But, for God's sake, why does the Investigator reveal themselves in a note and get away with it? Why?!
Guys, buff the Bodyguard, buff the Doctor. Yes, for God's sake, even buff the Investigator, but take away their notes.
The Town should win through executions and survivability, not through HINTS and the METHOD OF ELIMINATION.
That's all I wanted to say.
Well, I think I didn't have any obvious imbalances, because the recruitment mechanic: excellent -1 town and +1 mana farm (-2 and +2 would be quite difficult to achieve, of course). And also resurrection. Although, it's up to the players to judge, of course.
Hey, after the Mafia game, we were discussing this in the chat.
No, Menti, the drug use was among the players, not because of the GM.
[24.09.2012 19:50:28] Arko: After the nerfs, I said that the Mafia became stronger. Although there were too many blockers for the Grove.
[24.09.2012 19:51:08] Plesen: YES, THERE WAS A COMBO LIKE PYRO AND OPOLEZEN, JUST LIKE ARANDOR'S, THERE WAS NO BALANCE AT ALL.
[24.09.2012 19:51:21] Plesen: Okay, at least the combo had a break.
[24.09.2012 19:52:56] Locky: Killings without clues are garbage. I've always held that opinion. But I didn't read Sethenk much, so I can't say anything, I just remember the guys complaining before the game that the town was overpowered.
[24.09.2012 19:53:22] Plesen: Yeah, it was overpowered. They didn't kill a single Mafia member.
Oh, well, why should I stress myself out and prove the obvious?
By the way, here's another suggestion. Tox, how about banning any hints about one's role? That also ruins the Mafia game.
But seriously, it's good that more and more people are starting to understand the truth about the notes. But on the other hand, the game won't be won otherwise, because the main problem is activity. Without it, there will never be a proper game. In the latest games, it seems that even to be a successful player, you don't even need to properly solve the clue; it's enough to carefully observe the behavior. And when both sides do this, that's when the real game begins. And the brain works at full capacity, processing all the nuances of words and reactions, analyzing the situation. Thinking doesn't mean Googling. As for the clues, they should be simple but have variations. For example:
"Andrey already felt the cold tentacles of death1 behind him; he looked for the last time with tears in his eyes2 at the setting sun3 and fell into oblivion."
Here, there are three clues, but two are incorrect. This encourages dialogue. Or one clue that points to several people. Also, to encourage dialogue.
Отдай свои прошлые сны, В сомненьях себя обрети, В бешеном танце душа кружится! Не думай, что будет потом, Здесь и сейчас мы живем, Стань хоть на миг сам собой, слышишь!
I'll be doing this for the third time, just for fun. =)
Added 1 minute later Zubr, let's remove the notes, the hints, and the fuel; let's keep only the clues, the checks, the blockers, and the healers (which is also very important, as it guarantees non-mafia members, a fact that players often overlook!). Let the blocker be a blocker! How does this arrangement sound to you? I think it's perfect.
