"Peace, friendship, ceasefire!";) (C) V. Vysotsky Each of you is right in your own way. There is no need (because it is useless!) to try to issue a final and irreversible verdict like "Necropolis rules, Tower sucks!";) Situations vary, and each race has its own advantages and disadvantages. For example, I just started playing a map with the Tower faction, and the main enemy is necromancers. They are still far away, but resources are extremely scarce, so I have to think carefully: is it better to build something in the city or hire a few more creatures? And on another map, I started with necromancers, and they have only slow creatures of the first levels due to a shortage of resources, and the neutral creatures around, by the author's will, are mages and archmages! So, by the time the zombies crawl up to them, the mages will have almost all of them "killed"!:(

It's bad manners to deliberately portray your opponent as an idiot. Rudeness is just one of the forms of rage.
Not an idiot, but a noob. There's a difference. "Game tactics" derived from playing against the computer and posted on various forums as "advice" have largely disappeared with the advent of the internet for most people. Your story was very similar to such a tactic. But most importantly, you didn't mention that we're talking about playing on a fixed map, a pre-designed map, and not one generated by a random map generator, and this misled me, because the topic seems to imply playing on a random map. And a fixed map is a completely different game, with different strategies, different priorities, and a different approach.
I don't care about good or bad manners; I'm not obligated to be some fluffy, kind hamster, especially online. I follow the forum rules – I don't swear. And I don't care what anyone thinks about it, whether it's good or bad.

I don't like playing random maps, it's too boring, and what's wrong with Multiplayer on custom maps, where all players know all the subtleties and nuances of the map, and can plan what to spend their time and effort on?
Nothing is wrong with it! In many ways, it's even better, more balanced. It's just a completely different game.
For example, on random maps, Warriors are dominant, while on fixed maps, Mages are. On random maps, the Necromancer is powerful, with a legion of skeletons, because there are plenty of places to raise them. On a fixed map, the Necromancer can be quite mediocre or even weak, depending on the map itself, etc. Kird
I've already explained why I didn't have any economic difficulties, and there's nothing new about it: looting, looting, and buying only what's necessary. Even if I don't buy 'what's necessary' right away, it doesn't matter; there's still enough for an army capable of attacking. About the Necromancer... Well, his vampire skeletons were useless. And the Knights ran into a Naga, who only slightly outnumbered them and died almost immediately. The Necromancer held on by resurrecting, but I had that too, as well as incomparably more other magical abilities. A stack of skeletons isn't scary either, especially when their leader has almost no other troops and mana left.
If the numbers I provided confused you, I still don't understand how it's possible to win on that map, or on other maps that I like, in the first week.
Nothing confused me except the confusion between playing on random maps and fixed maps. It would have been nice to mention that right away. And I didn't say anything about winning in the first week. Kird
I would gladly master the art of online warfare, which you value so highly, but perhaps in another life. In this one, I've already spent too much time on games, so I'm happy with just relaxing with friends for fun, rather than having Olympic ambitions. I'm sure many will agree with me.
Suit yourself. Play whatever you want with whoever you want; I don't care. Kird
And if you don't understand what I'm talking about, stop playing anything immediately. It's dangerous.
Is there something special about it that's not so easy to understand? Then I don't understand, because I don't see anything like that.
Whether to stop playing immediately or not, I'll decide 100% without your help.
Сейчас балуюсь этим https://vcmi.eu/download/ За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
normal progress if you play on equal footing with the computer, but if you play on the highest difficulty, I am amazed at how you manage to defeat it without having anything at the beginning, while the computer has a ton of resources and plays like a beast. If you play on equal footing, after two weeks you can have 16 mages and 8 Naga Queens, and easily clear and capture neutral castles, as well as defeat enemies, plus 2-3 giants that can carry heavy loads:D. Overall, it's an easy race. Then, sell all your resources and build Titans and go on all sorts of adventures with all sorts of riffraff.

Once, playing by trial and error, you could even lose on a pawn. But with time, you can defeat the AI even on 200%. Don't be surprised, just change your tactics.
Yes, I'll continue with the walkthrough of the map "Darkness Attacks" now. First, I need to defeat the Barbarians, and later I'll go and eliminate the undead. Then I'll write about how a mage, starting "from scratch" on impossible difficulty, developed enough to defeat strong AI opponents. saef, play more – mastery comes with experience! And read what strong players write: you'll learn a lot of new things!:) Other people's experience has helped me improve my game, although I'm still far from being a master...

When playing as Gremlins without a cart, you need to be quite precise, trying to shoot as many direct shots as possible. Nagas in the Castle are extremely rare, as only Maretti knows how to play with un-upgraded Gremlins; the vast majority upgrade them. By the way, I have always advocated for using Kirr when playing as Tower. Many Tower heroes have useful magic (which can be passed on!), and this magic can help in breaking through defenses.
2Chingis You should decide for yourself what is more important. If there are guards or objects that require a cart, then you need to build one, but usually there are very few of them, except perhaps for dwarves. You can also buy a cart at the military factory. Here, by the way, is one battle I played in an online game as an example: /topic/at/523400/ For such a battle, a cart is needed :)
That's Solmyr, and there's another one with a ballista, I don't remember his name, but I always buy him. I've never used Nilah's magic at the start, out of habit, because Gurnisson always goes without a spellbook for the first week:).
Also, who else from the Tower has magic?
The one with the ballista is called Torosar. I like this hero, although he doesn't have the skill needed at the beginning:)), he has a specialization, but not the skill...
From the Tower, there's a great guy named Tan. The advantage of him is that, in addition to archery, he has literacy, which allows you to establish spell exchange with other heroes!! For the same purposes, Iona is also good. She brings both gold and has archery. There are also several heroes with acceleration, led by the legendary Kyra (not Knightly)/Saira. With the help of Tan/Iona, you can teach this acceleration to all the guys.
Literacy is not a plus, but a minus, as it wastes an extra skill slot that could be used for more useful abilities. Titans are easy to defeat for Jebus on the first week. Against archers, use single gargoyles with the "Devour" ability, bringing them out under direct fire.
Understood. But Nila, and many others in the Tower, also have Literacy. Nila is good because she immediately gets Air magic. And mass acceleration for upgraded Nagas turns them into dragons:) with retaliation, only without wings:).
In general, Nila is good, unlike Tazar and Mephala, because she starts with a spellbook right away, which is very cool, and Literacy is also a plus. The only downside is that Earth magic rarely comes up for her.
I've played about 100 times with Dungeon, Necropolis, Stronghold, Inferno, Rampart, Fortress, and Tower. Tower has the slowest results.
Here's what causes me difficulties:
1. When a ranged unit blocks the road at the start, it's a problem, because ranged units always take down level 1 monsters first, which Gremlins are, and Gremlins are very fragile. What can be done about this? Because under certain circumstances, this can significantly slow down development. 2. Titans are a dream for a balanced build in the early game. Therefore, the main troops are Nagas, but even upgraded ones are very slow on the march, not to mention Golems. In other words, the army is very slow. In battle, mass acceleration solves the problem. But Air 3 still needs to be upgraded. And in the early game? 3. But Golems are excellent as meat shields or for absorbing damage. When taking Ulia, 12 snakes cannot take down ONE Golem in one turn. You enter Ulia with 3 Golems and a few Nagas and easily take it. Utopias are also easily taken with the loss of a few Golems, slightly more than in Ulia:).
Play Kirra, as Qwerty recommends. If that doesn't help, read the section on turn management 30 times and, before moving any hero one square, remember what it says. Because I suspect that you theoretically know about boosting, but in practice, the main hero boosts quite rarely. Tower is a very rush-oriented Castle, less dependent than others on the random hero you get. Because there are many Gremlins and their upgrade is cheap. Ranged units. It's not always necessary to break through with the main hero. I remember a hero named Kalt, for example. By the way, remember that Defense (skill) also works against ranged attacks. As an option, detach the Gremlins and, if possible, kill them with magic (Gargoyles block, but don't attack). You can sacrifice some irrelevant unit in such a battle. The first 4 levels of troops on small maps either solve the problem against the AI. Play more aggressively, buy more heroes, more troops.
Regarding Maretti: it's impossible to explain, just watch his streams.
Kalt is good with his second tactic against archers; you can try to block it. And it's okay to sacrifice the fish as meat in this situation.
