Sanctuary versus Stronghold.

Ramzes, I thought about it. When you play against humans, magic like "Drain Life" is obviously more realistic than "Time Stop." But both "Time Stop" and "Drain Life" can be easily dispelled with "Dispel Magic," etc. However, you can't get rid of elementals with any kind of dispel. So, they are effective even against humans, and even more so than other types of magic. IMHO.
What do you think?

Yes, you're right; you need to choose spells depending on the race and hero of your opponent. And elementals are really effective, especially as a blocking force.

I'm curious how effectively you can defeat an Orc Warrior in "Tears of Asha" using Sanctuary. I think this is the most difficult Orc opponent. Sanctuary has one clear disadvantage in combat: there is NO way to remove positive spells from the enemy. The Alliance has "Bless," and other races have "Dispel Magic" in Dark Magic, but Sanctuary has nothing! Therefore, Orcs can safely cast General spells with a long duration: "Regeneration" (General), "Stone Skin" (General, 5 turns), "Drain Life" (General), "Heroism" (General), and something else. Casting "Plague" on Sanctuary is not very effective because of its high magic resistance, but the aforementioned spells on all the Warriors will cause problems. And if Sanctuary tries to do the same, you can simply cast "Dispel Magic" on a couple of key stacks and defeat them with all your Orcs until they are completely wiped out.

So, if you play Lizards against the computer, set the Warrior as the hero. It would be interesting to see how you defeat a strong Orc Warrior in "Tears of Asha." I think such an opponent will create slightly more problems than a mage. Although, of course, you will easily defeat the computer. :)

I was playing as Orcs against Sanctuary in a duel (against a strong AI). I noticed that the Priestesses' Medusa Gaze removes positive spells from my units, even though the description of this ability doesn't indicate that. Is it just me, or is this a bug?!

And another thing I don't understand. Why do Sanctuary Warriors sometimes move before my Orcs, even though they have lower initiative?!

I read the manual again. The Sanctuary has access to Primal magic, which includes Dispel and Mass Dispel; both remove ANY spells from ANY units.

Yes, I was mistaken. I only play as Orcs, so I didn't know about Primal magic. I'll keep that in mind, thanks.

It’s certainly useful to play as other factions, but I can’t seem to get tired of Orcs. I think it’s important to pay close attention to the balance of power. It’s generally accepted that Haven and Necropolis are the strongest. That’s why I’m interested in taking a less powerful faction, delving deeper, and trying to defeat a serious opponent. Otherwise, they’re even introducing various restrictions in tournaments now. So, it’s better for me to be more skilled with Orcs than to be mediocre with everyone. And for studying, I sometimes set up a duel on one computer and see what other factions are capable of. I recently watched Necropolis, and then I shared my vision of how to develop Orcs to counter Necropolis.

Necropolis is the best, an unbeatable dynasty in the hands of a skilled player. IMHO. Also, Haven is a great race in the hands of a skilled player, as are the Nagas.

Generally, I don't like playing as Sanctuary. The units are expensive and useless. They don't have a good racial ability either; Naga can't boast much. I also don't like Orcs – they're dumb meat grinders with low health. But I think in a fight, Orcs have a better chance against Naga because they at least have a lot of warriors. But Necropolis or Dungeon are completely different. When I play as them, I can easily defeat any Orc or Naga.
