Epilogue
Although Brereton was a crazy fanatic, he wasn't stupid. Only one condition restrained his rationalism: the execution of Anne Boleyn. He had to carry it out himself because only he knew how to do it. The king accepted this condition and essentially made a deal with the devil. Will he ever regret it? We won't know for sure now...
On that last evening, Henry pretended to be ill and ordered no one to be allowed in, not even his wife, and especially not Anne. For her sake, or rather against her, he devised this little scheme. Today she should be at home so that the avenger could end all that nightmare at once. Brereton cautiously entered the house and first went into the chambers of Boleyn Sr. The latter prepared a small surprise for the maniac in the form of a tripwire connected to a crossbow, but fortunately for Brereton, the bolt only pierced his left shoulder. This only intensified his rage. Like a wild beast, he pounced on his victim and stabbed her with a dagger until Thomas Boleyn's entire body turned into one large bloody lump of flesh. Now it was Anna's turn.
The fanatic found her in the stables: the girl was frantically trying to wake up her horse, but Brereton thoughtfully destroyed the girl's last hope.
A powerful blow to the face knocked Anne to the ground. Brereton threw a pinch of salt at her, then kicked her in the stomach and began outlining a pentagram around the girl with salt. Anna tried to break free, but another strong blow briefly knocked her unconscious. When she woke up, Brereton stood over her with a Bible in his hand, sending her on her final journey.
-I will shower you with gold; you will not need anything for the rest of your days!-Anna pleaded.
The fanatic did not answer; without stopping for a moment, he continued reading, clearly pronouncing each word.
-I beg you, don't do this! Why are you doing this?! Henry will hang you anyway; I know him. Think again!
He paid no attention to her words. When he finished reading, he cast a sympathetic glance at her, took out the dagger stained with her father's blood, and pierced Anna's heart.
Half an hour later, the king's guards burst into the stable, having received orders to arrest Brereton. But all they found was the dead body of Anne Boleyn.
