Divine Journey

- So, a ladies' man, huh? - Reynold smirked.
"Well, everyone has their own idea of what the 'Treasures of Deepwell' are."

- So, a ladies' man, huh? - Reynold smirked.

- You could say that. What could be better than another romance during this wonderful time of year?

Night falls in the Deepwell.
i.e., the environment simply changes; the game remains in the same mode.

Reluctantly gathering the small findings into a bag and slinging his shield over his back, Redram picked up the girl's body and, without incident, exited the cave.
- We're late... - Hostor placed the girl's body next to Vincent. - How cruel... We need to find the poor mother. And bury them. I won't let their bodies rot just like that... We'll leave as soon as Faelvir heals you, Daar, - the mage turned away from his companions and began examining Vincent's belongings, searching for records or other notes about his origins. Hostor set Vincent's weapon aside. - I think no one will object if we give Vincent's rapier to the one for whose child he gave his life? And the arquebus will be useful in the search for his homeland. He came here to save his daughter, and... I don't want to leave everything like this. And if anyone wants coins, I found a shield and some gold in the cave...

- Perhaps you are right, the time is indeed suitable. May I ask your name, by the way? "Time is on my side, yes. But I'm not here to chat with village girls... or generals."

Name? Let me think...
- My name is May A'aren Card, perhaps you've heard of me. Actually, I'm here on an important mission, but let's keep that between us; I don't want to lose my reputation in the eyes of the local girls. - "May" smiled warmly, - and what's your name?

- Wilfred Rest, pleased to meet you. Don't worry, I won't reveal your secrets, May," Card Reynold assured her with a smile. "Perhaps I'll keep my name a secret. Even if they don't know me in these places, he is clearly not from here. Now, the main thing is to remember your new name. "May" and "Wilfred" had been walking for some time, and Trust didn't even notice that they were standing in front of the entrance to the general's tent. Clearing his throat, the battle mage went inside. - Wilfred Rest, arrived from Grintower, to search for the grail," Reynold said, saluting the general.

Vincent's personal belongings:
Arquebus. Damage 50-80 (physical). Accuracy 10. Without preparation, shooting accuracy decreases by 50%, and the required amount of accuracy increases by 2.
Rapier. Damage: 16-20 (physical), Accuracy 4.
369 coins.
Lead bullet (x11).
Magic powder, necessary for firing the arquebus.
Letter written in clumsy handwriting.

- Wilfred Rest, nice to meet you. Don't worry, I won't reveal your secrets, May," Card Reynold said with a smile.
"Perhaps I'll keep my name a secret. Even if they don't know me in these places, he clearly isn't from here. Now, the main thing is to remember my new name.

- Wilfred? It sounds similar to the Duke's name, don't you think?
After entering the general's tent, "May" and "Wilfred" were met by the eyes of two guards, as well as Catherine herself, who was sitting tiredly at the table.
- The Grail? I need to add it to the list of names I've heard in the last week," she murmured quietly, "well, Wilfred, and this is your friend?

The result of the “search” made Hostor smile. A letter! There might be something useful in it. Redram started to read, but stopped and turned to his companions. - Here is all of Vincent’s property,” the mage pointed to the stacked items. “This pouch is heavy; it contains at least three hundred coins. But I don’t want to take his money… in this way. So you can divide it between the two of you. And take the shield,” Hostor threw the item on the ground. “And I will take the letter and the weapon, so that I can do what I planned.

-N, you could say that. But let's get back to the question about the Grail. I understand you have some really valuable information about it?
"It seems she really knows something. Sorry, "friend," but you'll have to wait a bit before you can start charming this lady."

Hostor reads a letter written in clumsy handwriting (meaning, for now, only he knows its contents):
"Daddy! I asked Elizabeth, our maid, to put this letter in your jacket when you leave! I hope it will remind you of me.
I'm so glad you finally visited us! You haven't been home much lately, and I'm lonely, and besides, everything has been rather gloomy for quite some time. Mom, Eli, the butler, everyone seems upset about something, which makes me feel a little uneasy. And also... Dad, why can't I walk? When I ask Mom about it, she starts crying and says that everything is fine, but it's not! Lately, I've been feeling even worse - I can't do anything, and I've lost my appetite, but everything will be alright soon, right? You'll come back and make everything the way it was, so I can grow up to be as strong as you. I'll shoot from your rifle, just like you, and I'll fence with a rapier just as gracefully as you, to protect those who are dear to me!
Come back soon!"

-N, one could say. But, let's get back to the question of the Grail. I understand you have some really valuable information about it?

- Listen, it's getting late, - having figured out how to get rid of the night guests, she said, - General May A'aren Card visited me today, and I told him everything I know. You can try to find him somewhere in the village; I'm sure he'll tell you everything.

Hearing the all-too-familiar name, Reynold gave a wry smile, looking at "Maya."
– We wouldn't want to keep you, Mistress Catherine. My friend and I just need to have a little chat.
“Hmm, no wonder he didn’t tell me his name, considering his ‘mission.’ I hope I can get some useful information out of him now.”

As soon as Reynold turned around, something blunt and heavy struck him on the back of the head. The battle mage collapsed to the ground, unconscious. After a while, he came to, hearing someone's voice – the voice of a healer, trying to bring him back to his senses – hey, buddy, how are you?
Looking around the tent, Reynold found two dead guards – one had his stomach ripped open, and the other had a bloody wound in his chest. General Catherine, lying sprawled on the table, also showed no signs of life, and blood slowly flowed from a cut on her throat.

- My head is pounding. Have you seen my companion? He's fair-haired and pale, looks like a nobleman, - said Reynhold, slowly recovering, to the healers.
"Damn it! Scoundrel! You vile bastard! If I ever catch you, I'll skin you alive!"

- Your companion? I haven't seen anyone matching your description. Do you suspect it was his doing? I suggest you rest in the infirmary; the headache should pass soon, the healer explained while examining Reynold.

- I'm sure it was him. He asked about the general and requested to be led to him. When I brought him, he got hit in the back of the head, and then you arrived. I wouldn't refuse a break, although I hope the headache won't last too long.
"But one thing keeps bothering me - why didn't he kill me? But what happened will be a lesson to me; I need to be more careful in the future."
