You say they're not wealthy? Well, well. Of course, dying separately is a pleasant thing. But surviving... Unification under Russia will destroy it. But a union based on an equal federation will save it.

In my opinion, sooner or later, Russia will take power in such a union. I can say for sure that it will happen almost immediately.

LOL. Russia won't achieve anything anymore – they lack the strength. The strongest in such an alliance is Kazakhstan. And Uzbekistan. Russia has nothing left but empty boasting. And, by the way, Belarus and Uzbekistan are the only countries that have returned to pre-perestroika levels.

Empires, throughout history, were characterized by the fact that they eventually collapsed, so the USSR can be safely remembered without thinking about what might have been if... :)

Not only empires, but all states crumble. And new ones are born, only to disappear after a while. It's the law of nature, a cycle.

An empire is a collection of different peoples within a single political system and under a single governing body. Throughout history, such entities have always had a very limited lifespan. Eventually, these peoples would separate, either due to internal pressures or as a result of broader political trends.

An empire can refer to different things. Different definitions can be given, which is what historians do, thereby creating significant confusion.

2 Ganymed I haven't noticed that the Chinese Empire used to consist of Chukchi, Uzbeks, and Kalmyks. First, find more information, and then make your claims!:cool:

China considered itself an empire, and all neighboring peoples (including the unconquered) were its vassals. They had an imperial mindset. And even now, there aren't really "Chinese" as such. There are Miao (southern Chinese) and Tang (northern Chinese). And in general, there aren't even mono-ethnic states anymore. Does that mean they're all empires?
