Posts from We agreed to play Heroes of Might and Magic III online! (July 2010 - December 2013)
I have a question: why does everyone follow the same pattern? Why can't you just take a map and play? I've played a few times and noticed that some maps are better for one player and worse for another. At the same time, some players have already played the same map several times and know where everything is! Why can't you take a map with equal conditions and play? This way, you can show all the advantages of the game, instead of just who can gather resources and hire units faster!
I agree with you. But still, you need to play random maps, as the fixed map can also be well-known. Still, before pressing the "create" button, everyone is in equal conditions.
The game of Heroes is not only about fighting better in the final battle, but also about being able to find the keys to development! This is even more important.
A random map is ALWAYS generated by the generator based on a template. If no specific template is specified, the game itself selects one of the templates embedded in it.
That is, absolutely any random map is actually PSEUDO-random. And it turns out to be pseudo-random.
All template schemes that can appear in the game are here: /topic/at/391497/

It cannot be said that I play random maps without templates because the random map generator still uses templates; they were created by the game developers. You can see which specific template was used in the game by pressing the English button "I" or by looking at the scenario information after the words teamplate was.
Specific templates are played, not all of them подряд, not because things are bad, but because they are more balanced in terms of distribution among opponents. To make it fairer and avoid one-sided victories for the generator.
За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
I play random maps; there can’t be any templates.

Here, someone else was complaining – /topic/6920/
Maybe someone will be kind enough to create a game and share the network name in Hamachi so I can try to connect?
I've been trying since yesterday evening, but without success.
I can't seem to play online.
It seems the problem is that I'm using a laptop with WiFi.
I've already searched the entire internet, forwarded various ports in the router, and moved Hamachi to the top of the network list.
It seems like there's been some progress. The game now shows the Hamachi IP address. I need a test run.
I would be grateful for help with this operation. :)\
And who knows, maybe we can even play a game later if you're interested. :)\

vvyagoda, DeBaZ you have already been given an answer. Specifically to you, vvyagoda.

No one is arguing with your words! I just want to say the following: if you play on several, so to speak, balanced templates, then they are already learned! That's what the whole point is. There must be an element of surprise, especially at the championship level.
And the fact that an unbalanced map may be generated is not a big deal. It is even more honorable to win in more difficult conditions:o
