Chapter 5
"The Talkative Flute"

This time, no one started a mourning period for another demise of
Thorium in the
Abyss; moreover, some began cracking jokes that heavy metal would soon return, albeit in a new guise.
Now
Norman was not worried about the loss of Vic, because he knew that the hour of victory over the scoundrel
Rosen was near. And that he could now calmly hand over the reins of power to his nephew.
For a long time,
Tox paced back and forth, longing for those magnificent girls brought by that uninvited guest. It was difficult for
Tox to make this decision, but he intended to invite the youth for a cup of tea again, just to meet those beauties once more. However, before he could gather his strength, there was a knock at the door. Seeing that very guy with the same maidens on the threshold,
Tox couldn't resist and invited them all into the house.
"And why not? – he justified himself mentally – just because I promised myself not to let uninvited guests into the house doesn't mean I can't invite someone over when they arrive unexpectedly."
Unfortunately, the beauties simply teased
Tox once again, and as soon as their companion decided to leave, they all ran after him, ignoring
Tox's feelings.
At
Drakkoshka's place, some suspicious type played solo guitar under the window all day, forcing Kosha to enjoy this music. It was only a pity that he was slightly out of tune.
Some crazy Goth was pestering
Spear, claiming that the war was not yet won and that Haven could destroy all the inhabitants of the Abyss or turn them into slaves at any moment.
And once again,
Moena decided that it was time to shed blood. This time her target was a person quite interesting to her, who had recently aroused her terrible suspicions. However, at the decisive moment, when she could have easily disposed of the victim, an image of
Thorium appeared before her eyes, causing
Moena to drop her sword on the floor and run home in tears, leaving her "victim" in complete bewilderment.
Rimpel walked around the city all day. This evening he wanted to visit
Werevolka to play something for her again, only this time without letting her go anywhere.
On the way, the guy smiled sweetly at all the passers-by, evoking an exclusively positive mood in everyone.
Finally, approaching
Werevolka's house,
Rimp bumped into the guy who had bothered him yesterday with his survey.
"Hello, esteemed sir," the man smiled, "I'm glad we've met again."
"Amazing, you even remember me!"
Rimp rejoiced. "How unexpected!"
"What a wonderful coincidence! I happen to have a small survey that I would like you to participate in."
"Fine, if it doesn't take much time."
"Believe me, it won't..."
At first, the guy asked
Rimp simple, boring questions, but then he began questioning him about his views on serving Haven and his opinion of those on
Rosen's side. Answering this question,
Rimpel let himself go and dragged the entire Alliance through the mud, especially its leader,
Rosen Berg.
Rimp's words filled the guy with rage. His face was literally covered in anger, which he didn't even try to hide. In the end, without letting
Rimpel finish his speech, the guy pulled out a pocket knife.
"Yes, shut up, you vile creature!" the stranger screamed, stabbing the knife into
Rimp's stomach.
Rimp fell to his knees, not understanding why he had been treated this way. He tried to reach for his flute to attempt to save himself, but the killer cold-bloodedly ripped the flute from his hands, broke it, and threw it in
Rimp's face.
"You should think about what you say, scum," the villain added, slitting
Rimpel's throat with his knife.
The guy thought he had left no witnesses at the crime scene; however, he failed to realize that a frightened
Werevolka was watching everything from the window. Although she didn't remember his face, she noticed his strange glowing halo that appeared after the murder of
Rimpel.
