I still haven't gotten around to posting my thoughts on the game's results.
I don't know of any other game where I've had this many facepalms.
I'm too lazy to list all the mistakes the players made, and it would be boring anyway – those who understand game mechanics even a little already remember them, and the rest have the same standard reaction to any criticism: "lolol but what about your pro skills."
And it's hard to pick just one thing that's the dumbest. Everyone in this game is a diamond, hand-picked.
Thorium with his detailed plan for where Demi should go, and the next day cheerfully hanging a player who, by that same plan, proved he was Demi.
The Guardian, deciding to protect himself on the second night — not only did the protection not help him, but a Guardian who protects himself is of such benefit to the town that words fail.
The Sandman, who for some reason aggroed the Doctor onto himself, and the Doctor, who for some reason went to the Sandman after that — why the hell? What could be the point of healing the Sandman — a useless role that can also be recruited?
By the way, I'd like to separately award a silver shoe each to our healers and guardians. What's interesting is this: neither the mafia nor the maniac hesitated to kill off the strong players. Gil was taken out as soon as his immunity wore off. Did anyone protect or heal him? No? So, for the town, Gil's value was, alas, less obvious than for the mafia? My little lololo's.
On the third night, both the mafia and the maniac came to kill me at the same time (too bad Pandora got caught in the crossfire with the mage). Again, I'm embarrassed to ask, but what was the Doctor doing? Ah yes, by then they'd started something personal with the Sandman — tonight and every night, those lovebirds.
But then again, overall everyone was so surprisingly incoherent that I don't even want to blame anyone specific. Overall, with the exception of three or four players, no one is playing. They don't know how and don't try to learn. For most, Mafia has become a branch of a chatroom, and any mention that it's an intellectual game with specific techniques is perceived as an attempt to ruin the fun.
Playing on HeroesWorld has become boring. Everyone probably remembers the saying that you can only learn something by playing against a stronger opponent? Well, on HeroesWorld right now, you can only unlearn everything completely, so I'm going to play on other mafia resources.
This isn't an official statement like "oh, I'm leaving the forum, and shame on you all!" — I have no reason to leave the forum — but playing Mafia here is pointless. Good luck. :)
