Is randomness insignificant? There have been instances, and not just once, where a mage with 20 hit points could defeat a fully armored dwarven berserker with a stick. Of course, it's all about my skills and experience, right?
Randomness isn't insignificant, but experience and skills are also important.
At 160% randomness, nothing really changes. You can still easily gather all the necessary resources on the first map. That's why people play at 160%; randomness plays a much smaller role there. At 200%, it can be decisive, but only in rare cases with unfavorable conditions (small resource spawn/strong guards). As for some poor map design where you can only get gems from a leprechaun, I'll have to think about whether it's even worth playing, let alone playing as a mage.
Well, I thought people played at the maximum setting.
I've been playing Vesnot since 2005, I'm a newbie.
I'm one of the creators of Vesnot, a newbie. Knyaz_OMEGA
There were cases, and not just once, when a mage with 20 HP killed a full-geared dwarven berserker with a stick, of course, it was my skill and experience, yeah.
An exceptional moment.
It's immediately clear who played seriously and who just engaged in mindless slaughter.
Huh? Well, I know that there are a lot of Russians on the Vesnota team (maybe even more than representatives from other countries, except perhaps America), but... is there any proof?
Well, I thought people played on the highest difficulty.
Hmm, is this about the third game or the fifth? If it's about the fifth, then I was wrong :o People play on Hero difficulty, but in that case, this
But in the case of quickly building Titans, the player gains a solid advantage in battles with the opponent (unless the opponent also gets lucky and develops quickly).
is a good argument for me to continue playing Heroes of Might and Magic V with the Return to Arms expansion only. Because in the third game, something like building Titans doesn't really matter: on Jebus, Titans are built on turn 2 in 99% of cases, and on non-Jebus, by the time you build Titans, your opponent will kill you :) If in the fifth game, online play boils down to "who builds Titans faster," then that's depressing, I think.

For me, this is a good argument to continue playing Heroes of Might and Magic V in Ranked Tactical Arena (RTA) mode only. Because in the third game, such a thing as building Titans doesn't really matter: on Jebus, Titans are placed on the second week in 99% of cases, and on non-Jebus, while you are building Titans, your opponent will kill you. If in the fifth game, online play boils down to "who builds Titans faster," then it's depressing, I think.
Do Titans really matter in the fifth game? Nah, forget it.
Tomorrow holds no promises Except the ones we've made
I already wrote about the third game above. Titans will definitely give you an advantage if you build them (especially with a town portal), but not at the expense of leveling up your hero or capturing objects. This is not achieved simply by visiting the leprechaun's garden... As for the second game, I'm a newbie, but I read some reports from experienced players, and they manage to get giants/dragons in the first week  I don't know what difficulty level they're playing on; I didn't ask.
Well, it's not that difficult to win against Barbarians, Knights, and Necromancers in the first week; even an average player can do it.
Titans will certainly give you an advantage if you build them (especially with a stronghold), but not at the expense of upgrading your hero or capturing objects. This is not achieved simply by visiting the leprechaun's garden...
Well, the leprechaun was just an example, perhaps not entirely accurate.
