I'm glad you included me as one of the authors, although I'm a little embarrassed to be listed there. After all, I only came up with the idea, and you did all the work. Thank you.
By the way, a question - did you change the stats of these units, or did they retain the stats from the dragons?
And another question - it would be nice to add a couple of interesting abilities to them. The Phantom could be given an ability like "Dragon's Roar" or something similar, in the style of the Nazgûl's cry from The Lord of the Rings. In practice, this ability would simply cast the "fear" or "despair" spell in a certain radius around the dragon.
And the Champion could be given an ability like "Dragon's Breath". That is, when this ability is activated, the dragon itself would attack with a normal attack, instead of the rider. Just change the effect of the fire to green, for example.
The riders on horses, since they don't fly, could be given a regular teleport.
Just some thoughts...
By the way, you clearly didn't understand the joke from the previous author.
With his link, he probably wanted to say that you made a mistake in the word elite.
The Ghost unit could be given an ability like "Dragon's Roar" or something similar, in the style of the Nazgûl's scream from The Lord of the Rings. In reality, this ability would simply cast the "fear" or "grief" spells within a certain radius of the dragon.

Don't apologize, Mold. The idea is good, but their ability seems a bit weak for level 7. I reduced their stats and gave them an overpowered "Deadly Strike," which seems to work. Although, I also had the idea to give them an additional ability from the Cave Lords.
Let the riders on horses run around. I increased their speed by 1 and reduced the cost.
The Champion is now a Warlock with advanced Scatter. I'm not sure if I need to add more... Although, I could weaken them and make it so they rely solely on their skills.
P.S. I won't make any more changes for now. Let's gather all the suggestions and ideas regarding the mechanics, otherwise, I'll have to upload updates every five minutes.
I was actually surprised that only one person responded to this thread! ((
Regarding the dragons and their abilities.
I just looked at them in the game. By the way, everything works perfectly.
My impressions are that the Black Champion is simply magnificent!!! Out of 5 points, I would give it a 6 for such a rework!
The spectral dragon looks much better in the game than in the screenshot, but there are two comments.
Firstly, you used the same texture for the rider and the dragon's armor, which results in the rider blending in with the armor. It would be better to create some contrast, for example, make the rider's armor not so light, but darker. And leave the cloak light, spectral.
Look at the Black Champion - both the rider and the dragon are black, but the difference in shade is clear, and they don't blend together. It turned out very well.
Secondly, the spectral dragon's "deadly strike" ability is a clear imbalance, because the 25% chance to kill half of any unit is very powerful, in my opinion! I think this unit would be better suited to some kind of frightening ability, since it is a ghost. Or the ability to avoid attacks like ghosts, but since this is a high-level unit, the chance to avoid damage should be reduced for balance reasons.
And also, a small detail - in the Dark Champion's description, there is a line "kills his enemies to pieces." You probably meant "tears apart." And about the Ilite, it was already mentioned above.
Otherwise, I repeat - the work is beyond praise!

I agree - let's wait until impressions accumulate from the actual gameplay.
Time will pass - we'll discuss the balance again.
PS - but the Champions shouldn't be nerfed. They should be warriors, not spellcasters.
Their abilities should be purely supportive.
I will fix the descriptions.
The ability to phase out (or whatever it's called) like ghosts would be much more appropriate here, in my opinion.
We'll see. I'll write again after a while, when I have more detailed impressions of the game.
P.S. - what about the blue archers? I don't even remember anymore...
Are you creating these knights for the NCF project or just as a replacement for the standard castle creatures?!
I had an interesting thought today, and I want to share it with you.
I really don't like the dragons in the Necropolis faction. They are boring, uninteresting, and unoriginal units. The unit's stats also leave much to be desired, and I've long dreamed of seeing something else in its place.
Here's what I came up with:
Instead of dragons, we should have "Death Knights." You can call them whatever you want, but the point is that they are knights.
I'm sure this would suit the faction much better and add variety to the game. The faction would get its own truly unique unit, rather than just another dragon, of which there are already many.
