I will take the liberty of answering on behalf of the respected VDV_forever. Yes, any discussions other than the most general phrases, such as "large, complex, etc.," are prohibited. All of this is done so that everyone has the opportunity to play in their own way, and there is no desire to quit after seeing the results of others. But after the tournament is over, please do so; it is even encouraged.
Of course, you've done well to notice the bugs permissible in this tournament. But they are ALL related specifically to the game version.
IronAxe is again suggesting additional checks and revisions... NO, it is good that he suggests measures promoting FAIR play.
But Gentlemen - there's a simpler way! What you described has already been resolved everywhere long ago... This problem is solved by a SINGLE game version where all these bugs are fixed.
I don't even know what "double application of magic" means - is it a bug in "Restoration of Erathia" or "AB"? And I will be playing on a version where the bugs listed by IronAxe have long been FIXED!
...:) I hope that a thorough check under such conditions will bypass me - because these aren't my first Heroes... the saves will be heavier now :):):)
In general, SoD is already version 3.2, as far as I know... and there is no such thing as SoD version 3.0... And if there is no SoDa, then a whole addon is needed!

SoD 3.2 is the standard for most Tournaments (let's not talk about TE yet, because it differs significantly from SoD, and if we are going to use TE, then again, it should be the same for everyone). All the complexities we are discussing are buried in the tournament rules. If you clearly stated - SoD 3.2 and nothing else, there would be no discussion. It is much easier to find the SoD executable than to then look for problems, figuring out which version everyone was playing on. The ideal option would have been for all of us to switch to TE. Whoever hasn't played it has missed out a lot. TE is incredibly convenient both for players and organizers, all bugs are fixed, there is no week of monsters - and overall the organizer can manage all aspects (restrictions) of the game before it starts.
But, you're right! Considering that many don't have that version, and newcomers don't even know what it is, the NECESSITY and possibility of a UNIFIED version boils down precisely to SoD. Respected VDV forever wanted all willing participants to take part in the tournament, which is why he allowed all versions. And it should have been limited to a single version or just: SoD and TE. It's clear that you can't just brute-force your way through it. There must be some tricks here. Well, damn, now I have to find them :)
I really liked that the heroes have pseudo-realistic images.
I suggest that next time we create a map where there will be computer players of different colors, and each color will correspond to a clan from our portal, and the heroes in the teams will also be players from these clans :) That would be hilarious :)

Advice for all participants who haven't started playing yet:
The map is not designed for a quick playthrough, even though it can be played at a fast pace.
Please: plan your time so that you can complete it before the New Year, and don't leave everything until the last day. Because at the end, most participants will face the same PROBLEM!
We specifically made this tournament so long so that everyone would have time. And we set the maximum possible deadline for its completion, which means that we will not extend it any further.

The map has legions of monsters, but I wouldn't call it difficult... I agree, it's incredibly interesting, and speedrunning it is a real pleasure... the main difficulty is that time is limited; if you just play it casually, there's not much challenge... but if heroes like Xakker or Admin were roaming the lands freely, it would be difficult. Defeating ancient monsters or archangels calmly standing on the map, even if they outnumber your army tenfold, or heroes with skills only slightly lower than yours, is just a matter of technique... and I think most of us, if not all, wouldn't find it particularly challenging... Please don't think I'm speaking negatively about the map or the tournament – everything is simply magnificent!!! Huge thanks to everyone for giving us the opportunity to have such a great time!!! :)
And thank you to everyone who explained "Spirit of Despair" to me... for all 6-7 years, I thought it just made morale neutral... many probably won't agree with me, but in my opinion, the artifact is useless... at least, it only hinders my tactics, and I prefer not to wear it.

There, without the "spirit of despondency," there's simply no chance... And in general, any battle built on the combination of "fast flyer + archers" has little chance of success if the opponent regularly gets a morale boost.

A quest artifact appeared in one of the chests (I already had it), and I wanted to ask if it could still be counted towards getting the set, but then I saw the requirement to complete all the necessary quests. Also, the 10% weekly increase in artifact guard strength was a bit discouraging at first (I thought the number of guards wouldn't increase, but apparently the organizers decided that would be too easy). I want to wish all participants the best of luck in finishing this interesting map. I haven't played Heroes for about 2 years, but now I'm hooked again (I just got internet access, and there's a tournament starting, so it would be a shame not to participate).
