Posts from CIS Club Championship 2010-2011
After an incredibly tough game against Bayazet, we practically started right away with Term, who had been waiting for me half the day (we went to the store together, discussing what we would play along the way — that was my entire break). At the same time, when Vanya and I started, KobRa was still finishing his second-round game against Piterius, where he ultimately managed to pull off a very difficult position. During the third game, I went out to the square several times with Sanal to dip into the fountain and cool my head. The game Napalm - Alex from the second round, which determined KobRa's opponent, ended almost simultaneously with mine and Vanya's game. It seemed like that was my chance to rest, but I hadn't even finished writing the reports for the two previous games that Vik demanded from me when KobRa came up and suggested we start the final: Napalm had a bad start on Jebus Cross, already out of restarts.
And finally, the final itself: all subjective restarts were used, either 2 or 3 restarts due to the matchup thanks to Vik's light hand (absolutely justified), then finally the start and a save on day 112 to go watch football, with the Russian national hockey team's World Championship match going on simultaneously. Actually, the biggest credit for my victory in the final goes to... Stinger:) , who, during the morning continuation, applied the "opponent absent due to sleep" tactic to his namesake: having warned everyone I could that I absolutely had to be woken up in the morning, I went to sleep with a clear conscience, but not in my own room (where I was the only one left), but in Stinger's room, where two beds were free and the atmosphere was more eco-friendly, since due to its small size, neither poker nor any other partying took place there. Stinger, however, when he went to bed, locked the door from the inside :D. In vain did the judge (Vik), the organizer (Eric), the final participant (KobRa), and the fans (many) search for me all over the floor in the morning — I was luxuriating in the arms of Morpheus ;) And here I have to thank Sanal, who, with truly Eastern wisdom, gave me tea to drink before bed: in the morning I began to feel some discomfort related to excess fluid in the body :o , I had to wake up, and as a result, by 10 AM I was finally at the club.
PReDS (blue, Necropolis, Gosh, Gosh, -1200) def KobRa (red, Conflux, Moner, Moner), 144, 8MM6a, WT-Full.
Against the backdrop of the action in the parallel games Napalm-Term and Alex-Bayazet, this game turned out to be very sluggish (let it sound immodest, but it reminded me of the 2001 Champions League final Bayern - Valencia). At the first contact in the middle of the second week, when Galtran with 3 angels was within reach of the red Artem, he had nothing to drive him away, and I, in case of an attack, had exchanged gold for a buyout and planned to harass the enemy with a shot for 120 damage with 57 mana in reserve. Then came the maneuvers, and as befits a final, everything was decided by a single hex.:D Maybe someone who watched the stream will add some details.
Thanks to Artem for the game, and also to him and Alex for the Kingsisepp master class this year.
P.S.
That's it.
PREDS - CIS Champion 2011 !
This is how it should be:
PReDS MAN!
When Tanya told me that our planned visit coincided with the Championship, I was afraid that it would be uncomfortable for us – but everything turned out great, and I would gladly go again!
A special thank you to Tanya – our trip was her idea, and it was a great idea.:smile02:
It's interesting to consider how games on symmetrical maps would fare. (Mirror Jebus, mirror CM, h3dm1, etc.) at the level of SUCH tournaments? To minimize the imbalance caused by the GSC. So that no one would complain that it's a bad map.
Dima, well done! Respect, the alcohol ban was not in vain :) Hooray for the champion!
I wonder how well games with symmetrical templates would work. (Mirror Jebus, mirror CM, h3dm1, etc.) at the level of SUCH tournaments?
In order to minimize the imbalance caused by GSC. So that no one complains that it's a mess.
By the way, I posted photos on my VKontakte page. For those who don't want to download them, but just want to take a look, feel free to visit.
I want to thank the people who did everything to make this tournament happen.
At least he wrote the nickname correctly here!
8mm6a - 13 games
Jebus - 6 games
2sm4d(3) - 4 games
Mini-Nostalgia - 2 games
6lm10a - 2 games
Rampart - 13 games, 7-6 (wins-losses)
Castle - 9 games, 5-4
Stronghold - 9 games, 4-5
Dungeon - 7 games, 3-4
Conflux - 7 games, 3-4, plus one Conflux vs Conflux game (not included in the statistics)
Necropolis - 3 games, 3-0
Fortress - 3 games, 0-3, alert
Inferno - 1 game, 1-0
Tower - 0 games
Most players picked some pair from the Castle-Rampart-Dungeon-Stronghold set; the other castles appeared mostly through the randomizer, which especially favored Conflux :)

P.S. Mikha (Scorp), I forgot to ask for your PS nickname; write to me in a private message; we'll definitely cross paths more than once.
P.P.S. My general (Yura)! And we both forgot about that thing again. Well, it's been lying around at my place for 7 years, and it will lie there for however long it needs to. But for that... no, just - if you find Alan, say hello and tell him about this tournament; I would be very grateful. I think Eric will join my request.
PReDS, congratulations. You surprised me. This is your moment of glory.
I'm uploading the save files that I managed to copy. They are packed in 7z and then re-packed in zip, because I don't know if 7z archives can be attached to the forum.
After unpacking, if a file doesn't have an extension, you need to add it yourself to be able to load it into the game (I didn't think about it when packing, until Vic suggested it, so only the save files of games with TERM are packed with the extensions already added).
Save files of my games with Bayazet, Term, and Cobra on both sides:
For example, all the save files from computer #1 will be in folder #1, and so on.
Vik, if you have time, you can upload them to the first post of the topic.
