It's interesting to consider how games on symmetrical maps would fare. (Mirror Jebus, mirror CM, h3dm1, etc.) at the level of SUCH tournaments?
To minimize the imbalance caused by the GSC. So that no one would complain that it's a bad map.
It's even strange that no one decided to play a mirror match by mutual agreement. I don't believe the judge forbade it.
The issue here isn't just about leveling the playing field, but also about significantly saving time on restarts. Playing a 15-hour HL map with a 5000-second limit for such tournaments is an unaffordable luxury.
