I want to share my perspective on the game from our, the Mafia's, side in this post.
First, I want to talk about the team composition. Despite all due respect to the participants... we essentially had two types of Mafia members: those who revealed themselves during the game and those who remained silent, which became one of the reasons for our failure. Of course, it's our collective fault that we didn't work together effectively, but based on the behavior in the early stages of the game, I would confidently say that Ver and Thorium were Mafia members... but fortunately, Thorium was cleared by a general's block. Also, as you know, Gur's modkill was unacceptable in our game situation. We were planning a kind of "red rush" when the town would no longer be able to execute anyone, and we were essentially one step away from that, but unfortunately... Moreover, the game didn't really have a specific plan beyond that, because we understood that as the number of town members decreased, the roles would become much clearer due to the strong set of roles in the town. So, I want to say that the town's victory in the given situation was inevitable and no more. It can't be said that the town played well because they didn't figure out who the Mafia were at first, until clear checks started appearing and we began to reveal ourselves, which is what we eventually resorted to. But what upset me the most was
Arandor's rule violation, but I didn't insist on a modkill. However, this became the key to the town's victory, because by revealing his stats and role, the players gained someone they could completely trust, and that's why everyone followed Ar - he said to execute Kostyan, so we executed him, regardless of the fact that he was a town member. In short, it seemed like a not-so-brutal rule violation, but in the end, it played a decisive role. Therefore, I think we need to tighten control over the rules, and Ar should receive a serious warning and a modkill if there is even the slightest hint of it in the future.
It's difficult for me to single out who played well in this situation, but for the town, I would like to note
Gil4, who did a good job with the analysis and successfully hid from us. From the Mafia, I want to thank
Registr for his help with the night kill and his decent game. And of course,
Nebo, thank you for the setting.
Now, about the night kills:
1) In the first night, our choice was somewhat unsuccessful, but we still managed to eliminate the pink hitman, Flandri.
2) Many wondered why we killed Slonysh on the second night. Of course, we made a mistake, but I'll explain why that decision was made. The key clue for the puppeteer was the "olive pits," and I still don't understand how they relate to Hostor, but Slonysh's signature contained an entire article about scrubs
using olive pits, which is quite a coincidence, right?
But, in fact, no one understood the clue about me until the end of the game - neither that the consonant letters were "silent," nor that the alphabet came to us from the Balkans.
And in general, it seems that this was the most effective game in terms of executions, considering that the town didn't execute a single Mafia or Maniac based on clues o_O
3) As far as I remember, we organized a Mafia chat this night, and we had a great time talking :) To be honest, I didn't notice that Hostor revealed Ling in his spring hormonal surge, and we just went to kill him, choosing from 4 players who could be the Jester. But, of course, it would have been better to translate him to the night kill.
Then came Ar's role reveal and the unsuccessful execution of Kostyan, which forced us to reveal ourselves. And from that point on, the best option for us was to eliminate Ar, but the town trusted him because of the rule violation, and it was also exacerbated by the fact that those who were already suspected were also being eliminated, and as a result, Ar was cleared. We should have acted differently, but that was our mistake.
There's no point in continuing, because it all came down to finding specific roles from a limited number of players, and the odds were not in our favor, so, unfortunately, we had no choice.
Well, thank you all for the game.
