In this battle, I definitely got lucky, as I'm not very good at playing as mages. We played randomly. There were a couple of restarts before, because either I or Ment had Inga in the tavern, and I'm afraid of her like a vampire is of a cross. I cleared the map somehow, with elves with bows and other junk everywhere. I built up my Castle with difficulty, and didn't even have time to upgrade the Rakshasa before the final stage; I upgraded the Titans in the Fortress. At first, I planned to go for Darkness, but after building the Guild, I saw a lot of Light and Chaos there. So I decided to develop those. Somehow, towards the end, I found the Amulet of Cold. I was also planning to get a Lucky Mage, but it didn't work out. I also found a couple of items from Sar-Iss - a ring and a robe. I was surprised to find out that Ora's spells can cost 0 mana. Somewhere at the end of the 3rd month, Ment appeared in my territory with a good army. He must have been clearing the map for a long time, because in terms of stats and level, he was better than me. So I quickly retreated to the Castle, barely making it; one more turn and he would have caught up. Ment hesitated for a bit - whether to attack or not, but in the end, he attacked. Well, thanks to Chaos and mages, I managed to defeat him. By the way, he had an Expert Teleport and he managed to teleport the Paladins behind the walls. Also, luck was somewhat on my side. I'd like to add to Lord's message that I did develop faster this time than last time. But I made a mistake with the upgrades. For example, I took diplomacy and blocked empathy, and only 20 minotaurs wanted to join me from the neutrals. In light magic, I took three general skills, but a guardian angel would have been useful. When I reached Lord, he managed to escape from me into the Castle. I hesitated for a long time about what to do. But I was afraid that he would get stronger (well, he would multiply his miniatures, hire an army, after all, it was the last day of the week). Plus, I managed to get Death Stride before that, and I had teleport. So I took a risk. However, it was in vain. The wall, as expected, didn't let me take the enemy with speed, and he had serious magic.
