My opinion is that if you keep only the top 3-4 places in the Factions Battle (FB), then at the same time, the FB itself should give its participants the opportunity to play in the selection process for the FB. Otherwise, there is an absolute lack of sporting logic and a motivating factor.
Another thing is that the number of participants worthy of participating in the FB is growing with each season, and I don't see any particular problems in increasing the number of participants to 11-12 people. If people really want to and can play in the FB, they will play their games in it; the workload is not that great. I judge by my own example - despite my busy schedule, I managed to play 2-3 games with half of the participants instead of one.
As for the selection process itself, in any case, one place is not enough. At least two finalists, the third depending on the situation. The other "satellites" are not as important as the selection process itself, in my opinion.
