Paying for a spot is, in my opinion, a flawed practice.
In the previous tournament, I insisted that this not happen, and who did we ultimately lose? In reality, no one – almost everyone who wanted to and could (in terms of skill and finances) come, did come.
Now the situation is similar: if you don't qualify in one qualifier, you can go to another, as almost everyone has the opportunity. At worst, you can organize your own if you can't travel anywhere.
I completely agree. If you have the means and the desire to play in the final, you can either play in several qualifiers (St. Petersburg, Kingisepp, etc.) or organize your own. Of course, it shouldn't be a formal one, but with at least 6-7 more or less well-known players.
4th-5th place is too much. Let's give a spot to 10th place too...
Well, let's assume we won't give it to the tenth, but about the fourth... Kingisepp and St. Petersburg remain. I can roughly imagine the level of play of the person who took fourth place there. In principle, if someone from the top three can't make it, I would vote to give them a spot in the final.
For Siberia, Michurinsk, and even Yekaterinburg, I'm sure that noobs won't go – only the best.
Yes, and one more thing. In my opinion, one quota could be given to Bayazet. The champion of the club championship, in my opinion, deserves the privilege. If there is a new champion, let him prove his superiority in one tournament against the old one.
I'll nudge Stinger about Dilvish.
Stinger and Dilvish had a tough match at ProGamer. Almost all the Moscow veterans were involved in the conflict. Although neither of them is vindictive, I hope they have forgotten about it.
If someone could give me Dima's phone number, I would be grateful. Sorry, I lost it.
It's a pity that there won't be a qualifier in Moscow, with so many strong players.
Nagana, as always, it's a pleasure to read. ::) If there's a prize fund, say $2,000, the tournament will only benefit from it! Because it might attract the strongest players from St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Minsk. Any trip should pay for itself (not my quote).
since the strongest players from St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Minsk might participate...
It’s interesting how these strongest players will come without a selection process?
No way...
And if you count, three from the St. Petersburg selection, three from Kingisepp, that’s already six of the strongest. Several potentially top players still won’t play; they just don’t care. Of those who remain and won’t participate, they definitely won’t be stronger than the finalists.
I looked at the neighboring topics to see what kind of final we might get.
1. Bayazet - champion of the previous CIS final.
2. Dust - Siberian qualifier.
3. Dirty Player - Siberian qualifier.
4. Deep Mike or PREDS - Siberian qualifier.
5. Scorp - Michurinsk qualifier.
6. Mizrael - Michurinsk qualifier.
7. Lyokha - Michurinsk qualifier.
8. Yekaterinburg qualifier-1.
9. Yekaterinburg qualifier-2.
10. Yekaterinburg qualifier-3.
Three from St. Petersburg and three from Kingisepp will be added. That’s already a solid lineup. And there’s also Ukraine.
I find it hard to believe in the second selection in Moscow, and even more so in the first in Minsk.
I also find it hard to believe in the first Moscow selection. If it weren’t for Sticky, they wouldn’t have played last time. There are many players, but there’s no one to talk to about the subject. Sticky is out, Pit is out, Yama is out, DVSstranger, Stinger, PREDS, I can only talk to Querty. The clan leader, there are enough players there. Apparently, this is the only option.
Another option is to talk to Dilvish on the phone, but that’s even more uncertain.
Vik doesn't have the time to travel to different towns and villages. Family and work are a priority.
Turns out, they just banned Vlk. Yeah, his two and a half thousand posts were just garbage... Sorry for the off-topic, I just had to say it.
2 Vik. I wanted to register on Bay, but I can't. What happened? I just wanted to chat in the threads about the St. Petersburg and Kingisepp tournaments.
If possible, register me as a favor (I'll give you my nickname, and I'll send you the password in a private message). Thanks in advance.
I'll try to arrange prizes, a large engraved cup (that's the champion's concern, how he'll take it home). I don't plan to involve any outside resource (too much hassle). As was already said, participants chipped in 2 thousand each, so there's the prize pool — whoever wants to fights for it, whoever wants to goes off to poker and vodka.
I would suggest a minimum of 4-5 days, but that depends on how people vote. Also, the final should have 4-5 rounds, no less.
The only thing that worries me is the hotel. 1100 per day, for 3-4 days – a player will have to pay 4-5 thousand. I don't know what to do...
That way, no one will pay the fee:(
I have an idea: call them every day until they agree to 4 days or lower the price to an acceptable level. In Minsk, we paid around $500 per person per day, including food.
I know about Gryazi, but I couldn't find any trains to get there. It's a major railway hub for you, but for us, it's just a memory of Peter the Great's journey.
