Guys, great Heroes gurus :) Help me figure out the map editor... 1) Is it possible to prevent creatures from ever doubling their population? 2) How can I turn "pyramids" (buildings that don't do anything, just stand there for decoration) into mines or something else... a teleport, etc.? :smile45:
Well, you don't need to be a great guru for that. :) 1) Right-click on the monster. Properties - General - Quantity - The quantity does not increase. Check the box. OK! 2) In general, you can (for each object, you can change its properties or, conversely, make it so that it doesn't do anything and just stands there "for beauty"). But why bother if there are already enough mines and teleporters? There is already a relevant topic. Next time, please post there: All questions about Mapmaking /topic/5758/

1) Regarding increasing the number of monsters, I'm talking about new monsters appearing on the map, sometimes once a month, and not about the increase of already existing monsters.
2) And how do you make it so that, for example, a monster can be turned into a teleporter... or so that it can give a quest?
Once, I reworked the map "Sin's March" (where the hero recruits skeletons underground) for "Armageddon's Blade". I rewrote the scenario a bit, added two continents, a couple of islands, and some other features. When launched, an error message appears with a red cross and the following content:
Runtime Error! abnormal program termination
The same thing happens when launched in SOD. It only works normally in WOG. If anyone knows what this might be related to, please let me know.
litchh, I tried running your map. The result is the same: in SoD, it gives an error, but it works in WoG. I don't know why, because in the SoD editor, it opens normally and no errors are found. Ask Talarasha - he seems to be an expert on map-related issues. Another question: do you really need to rework other people's maps? Wouldn't it be better to create your own, from scratch? After all, if you're reworking them, it means you think you can do at least as good a job, if not better.

Another question: do you really need to rework other people's maps? Wouldn't it be better to create your own, starting from scratch? After all, if you're reworking something, it means you think you can do it no worse, and even better.
Well, actually, this is the only case where I reworked a map (I created the map with a piece of a textbook completely from scratch). I liked this idea so much that I wanted to develop it somehow. I do create maps, but rarely, and almost all the maps I have completed at the moment need further refinement.
I searched everywhere but couldn't find the information I needed. Neither here on the forum nor on Google. I want to learn how to edit random map templates. I'm willing to spend time learning. And here's a question: is it possible to remove heroes/cities from the list of available ones by editing the template? And if not, what method can be used? If this question shouldn't be asked here, please share a link to where I can ask it.
