I've played both, and I'm ready to express my hatred and disgust for this terrible series from this talentless and inept company. To repeatedly offer a copied, empty, and lifeless world with NPCs generated from a randomizer, without dialogue, plot, role-playing, and with a grindy system – that's even worse than the pathetic first KotOR.
TES is a dull, gray, soulless toy.
Did you upload non-standard portraits for your companions?
They made the elves look like whores, they don't differ in anything, only the drow differ in skin color.
Jaheira had such a great portrait in the first game, but in the second, they drew something awful. It's terrible.
The plot of any game from BioWare. Only a few details are exceptions.
Arandor already said about Baldur's Gate, especially since Baal had hundreds of children. Let me give you a couple of other examples:
Dragon Age – we are not "the chosen one," yes, a member of the organization. But not the only one, even considering that many died in Ferelden (and even more in other places) during the game. Besides us, there are three more. The Blight is also not "the forces of evil," but a natural force. The fact that some have retained their sanity (the Architect) is further proof of this, because they are not necessarily enemies, and they cannot do anything about the Blight themselves.
Jade Empire – here we are, yes, the only member of the Order. But essentially, it's temporary; during the game, if we decide to take the Dragon's power for ourselves, our companions (those who will turn against us) will be endowed with similar power, even the weak How. Again, the opponents are not "forces of evil," yes, there are some in certain сюжетные quests (the Mother, the Thing from the temple), but you can also help the Mother. The main goal for us is to free our mentor, and along the way, we solve the problems that arise in our path. The Emperor, despite everything, is not a "Dark Lord," and acts for the good of his nation, albeit by messing with the laws of nature. Furthermore, our duty is again not to "fight the forces of evil," but to stop another "benefactor."
So, "evil" is present only as a secondary villain in most games. Of course, there is Mass Effect, but it doesn't even pretend to have a plot; its atmosphere is good.
