Need help! In Heroes, I have the settings at maximum... when I load a map, the textures on the polygons become too blurry (as in the screenshot)... it's like "the picture was splashed with water," this glitch is fixed by simply changing any video setting, as long as the game does a video restart... the glitch repeats if I go to the Elves' castle or when buying an army... the glitch occurs randomly:smile21:... My computer specs: CoD2 1.86@2.8, 4GB RAM, 8800GT, and everything is running under OC WinVista64 SP1... I also have the latest patch 3.1... HoMM5 is a licensed copy! The screenshot is blurry immediately after loading the map... the second one was taken after simply changing the detail level to low and then back to high... even at low, the picture looks better:(... I thought maybe it was something with Heroes... I installed it on a laptop... and everything is normal there... I also tried changing the profiles... but it doesn't help:( :( :( , it wasn't like this before(((
1. Hmm, that's strange. I also have Vista and a laptop, but I don't have this problem. Although, when I played on my old computer, due to its low performance, I experienced a similar issue, but it was slightly different. When I changed the graphics settings on it, i.e., from high to low, etc., I noticed that the textures initially became blurry, like yours, and then gradually (and interestingly) they were replaced with normal textures. That's what happened. Maybe it's just a bug where the textures aren't fully rendered (although it's most likely that they aren't fully rendered). Here are my thoughts: try reinstalling the game, DirectX, and the video card drivers. 2. I have a related question. I'm playing Heroes, but after a while, about five or ten minutes, the game starts to lag terribly, the animation becomes jerky, it's just awful. This issue is resolved by minimizing the game (Alt+Tab), and after maximizing it, everything is normal, as if nothing happened. In general, you can play, but it's very annoying. Has anyone encountered this and knows a solution?:smile33:

Heroes V texture issue in Windows 7. All textures are reset, and blurry spots appear instead. Video card: Palit GeForce GTS 250. The latest drivers are installed, and installing DirectX 9 didn't help. When changing video settings in any direction, everything becomes normal, but when changing the location, the textures disappear again.

Also, I tried installing updates up to v1.6. The same thing happens.
Tried installing SpellForce 2 on Windows 7. The same texture blurring occurs. I installed Metro 2033. No problems. There are no problems with all the mentioned games on Windows XP. It seems it's too early to install old games on Windows 7. They don't work properly. Although some people say that they do. What are your thoughts?
Here are a few tips:
1. Update DirectX http://depositfiles.com/ru/files/ts2h1a2f1 2. Update your video card drivers. 3. Reinstall the game. 4. If something doesn't work on Windows 7, try installing Windows XP – I recommend it.

The problem is that when using Windows 7 x64 or Windows Vista x64 with Nvidia video cards, the textures are displayed incorrectly (they smear across the screen). This problem occurs for many users with this configuration, but no one can provide an answer. I have tried everything I could, tried different compatibility settings – it’s useless. I configured the drivers manually, but that didn’t yield any results either. I killed processes, except for the main system processes – the result is 0.
When using x86 versions of these operating systems, this problem does not exist. Also, it doesn’t occur when using ATI (AMD) video cards on x64 versions of the same operating systems.
Therefore, the Nvidia driver is to blame.
IF ANYONE KNOWS THE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM, PLEASE WRITE WHAT TO DO.
IF YOU DON’T KNOW, DON’T WRITE THINGS LIKE “IT WORKS FOR ME.”
more details - what video card do you have? install vcredist for x64 Have you tried installing various NVIDIA features? like CUDA? These are just guesses, so sorry if it doesn't work)

The only solution I found was to uninstall the x64 version and install the x85 (32-bit) version, and everything started working perfectly. It's true that it doesn't recognize 4 GB of RAM, but I don't need it. 3 GB is enough for all my games. Even GTA 4 runs without any problems.
CONCLUSION: If you want to play normally with Nvidia graphics cards, install Windows Seven x86.
I have Windows 7 x86, and I'm experiencing the exact same graphics glitches. I'm at a loss for what to do; I've tried everything I could find on the internet. I even tried installing XP through a virtual machine – Microsoft Virtual PC and VirtualBox – but the game wouldn't launch in that limited mode.
