In this directory, find the file "autoexec_a1.cfg":
C:/Games/Heroes of Might and Magic V/profiles/
Open it with a text editor.
Add the following line:

setvar dev_console_password = schwinge-des-todes

to the very end of the file, and save the changes.

I can't save the file. It says that the change is not possible. What should I do?

1. Check the file accessibility settings, if necessary, change the owner to yourself, and uncheck "Read-only".
2. Try creating a copy of the file, edit the copy as needed, and replace the original.
3. It's unlikely, but it's possible that the problem lies in the text editor - try a different one.
4. And finally, try doing without cheats - they're a nasty thing =).
